I accidentally had a PSA order sent to their stupid vault. Does anyone know how to go about getting those shipped back to me? I've clicked on everything I can find on their vault section, but can't find a ship back to me option..

It's in the vault. Nothing leaves the vault.
(I'm hoping I don't one day make the same mistake )

From my experience it can take up to 3 weeks after PSA ships the cards to the vault for them to actually be checked in to your Collectors.com vault. At that point you can send them to Goldin for sale, keep vaulted or ship. If your submission has been graded and "shipped" you may have to wait until Collectors.com checks it in.
I can't recall specifics with each vault but some have a 3% MV fulfillment fee if you want to move the card within 90 days of vaulting... if its over that amount of time it drops to 1%. I would reach out to them directly to let them know your mistake and see if they can do anything to help. Also - as much hate as PWCC gets here - the PWCC user interface and visibility is much much better than Collectors.com vault. PWCC seems much more timely in letting you know they received your submission and the actual status of that submission. |

Blows my mind that PWCC is still the only vault that has instantaneous transfer of your cards upon payment and acknowledges receipt of your packages within 1-2 days. These should be bare minimum goals for all these vaulting companies.

Yup. They won't do anything. Basically just cost myself some extra time + roughly $250+ on a 173 card order with their $1 per card/shipping back. Complete garbage. I mean, end of the day it's my fault for not paying closer attention, but I really wish that the send to the vault option wasn't the default. I'd have never knowingly chosen it.

The one good thing about shipping directly to PSA Vault after winning an auction is you avoid paying sales tax. If I lived in CA and was subject to ~10% tax on every eBay card purchase, I'd probably send everything to PSA Vault to skip out on paying taxes. I think, besides time obviously, the only thing you have to pay to get your cards back from PSA Vault is $1 (extra $5 if you ship your card to yourself before 90 days in the Vault). But if you picked up some 4 figure or higher cards, $6 is nothing compared to the sales tax bill that would have been owed!

The paperwork involved can be a nightmare. The State of Wisconsin expects that you will be reselling if you have a resale license. They will make an estimation on your quarterly sales and send you a quarterly tax bill. Also, with a resale certificate you are required to collect sales tax from any sales you make within your state (I know this is already handled through apps like Ebay but if you sell at card shows it would apply). Obviously, it's different with every state, but I would recommend looking into the requirements for your individual state before jumping into it. The last thing you want is to get audited and fined for non-compliance. Pretty much everything these days has an electronic trail. DYODD

Does anybody know if I can transfer to a buyer on PSA vault similar to COMC?
For example if I sell a vaulted card here or Reddit or Facebook, can I ship to their address or their vault? Or would I have to wait for the card to be in my possession to ship to the buyer? |

However, if the buyer already has an account (which he would if you are considering transferring) he has a unique vault account shipping number and you can just go to your vault card, and enter in the shipping address as the buyers personal vault shipping address. The card will then go to his account. It will either be literally shipped, or they'll see the unique address and just transfer it. I have no idea how long it would take to fully curate and show in his account. |
