Default Net to Me

Huge problem on Facebook and getting worse on here... but if your price is “net to me” you are super lazy and I won’t buy from you

Tell me the price DLVD and move along

I realize I might be in the minority. I don’t care.

I spend way too much money for people to not be able to figure out their actual prices DLVD.

God bless.

This drives me bonkers as well. Just tell me the price, I don’t want to do the math to figure out what the fees are. I don’t think I’ve ever bought from anyone that says net to me.

I refuse to.

I don’t care what they are selling. I’ll overpay on eBay.

If you can’t google “PayPal fee calculator” then I no longer want to deal with you

I think its used because some buyers prefer paying goods and some sellers prefer taking FnF to avoid fees. Thats what I've run in to.

Absolutely

It’s a way to convince rookies to pay F&F

People on Facebook are especially dumb

I am offered to do FnF but I ALWAYS choose goods. It is easier and more security for both.

Can you imagine if retail stores did that - oh sorry you are paying with a credit card this price is net so since the credit card charges at .002% fee that will actually be x additional on the price listed haha.

I agree its incredibly stupid and a pain - if you are selling online know that the price of being able to reach that many people is that you need to pay fees for access if you don't want to pay fees then sell locally and at shows.

I have a handful of people that I have done lots of deals with that I am willing to pay friends and family but unless I've done multiple high end deals with you I am 100% not paying friends and family no matter how many people you have that will vouch for you.

Help me....what's "net to me"?

Im imagining a seller saying, "well I paid $100 for the card and I want $300 for it now so $200 "net to me".

That cant be it though because hopefully no one is that big of a jackass.

It’s a lazy ass way to say “pay me F&F or do your own math”

Someone says $100 net to me...

They mean $100 F&F (especially on Facebook) or you cover the G&S “fees” and I’m too lazy to tell you what those are.

Even when it’s legitimately a seller fee

I’ve passed on many cards I would buy out of being spiteful

A lot of buyers prefer paying FNF. My last two high end deals were both FNF at the buyers request, I offered goods as a seller. The 3% discount on a 5k+ Card adds up. FB is just about the only place where there's any trust and a vouch system in place to do deals like this, otherwise local is the only option. I am surprised at the large amount of high end buyers who prefer F & F but it's been more common for me than goods by far when dealing with anything 2k+.

I have bought from people who did business this way twice because they had a rare Brett card I needed.

Trust me, I didn't give them one extra penny. If it came out to $50.19, that's what they got.

It is annoying, and I typically avoid them, but rare stuff is rare stuff!

Which is fine.

We all know the risks of F&F

Give me a discount if I’m dumb enough to offer it. Don’t add fees because I’m smart enough to use G&S

People post it backwards because Facebook people are idiots

Some retail stores do this. A lot of websites do this as well. You will see price us cash or check. if paying by CC please add 3%.

I will always not buy from a business or person that does this. If you are selling something you have to take into cost of goods sold. I get trying to save as much money as possible but it just comes off as stingy. Adjust your price to reflect fees.

$100 should mean $100

If I’m dumb enough to offer F&F? Then sell to me for $97

Not the other way around

It’s preying on people that don’t know what they are doing

I’ve just noticed it on Blowout from a few folks

So are these considered illegal transactions or no?

No you simply report to IRS on schedule C (for me at least)

Just FYI for those who still don't understand- it's legal if you report it to the IRS. Paypal doesn't like it but that doesn't make it illegal, 100% sure on this. I prefer goods myself as makes taxes easier.

I don’t think this is so bad. On social media people have some followers who have done past good deals and would take a 3% discount for FF. Others always want to do goods and services. It lets the buyer choose their risk tolerance and shipping method.

I don’t buy and sell cards on social media but I don’t get why everyone above hates this “net to me” practice

Taxes and paying PayPal for a service are not the same thing.

FYI
