Default How I Spent $722.50 CAUTION: Awesomeness Inside.

So there have been a handful of cards ive been wanting for a while now and was just waiting for my tax return to come so I could pull the trigger. I may have overspent a little bit considering todays market for Gronkowski....but I didn't overspend by much.

Probably one of my least favorite of the bunch....scan doesn't help much either. The whole concept is a bad idea in my opinion.
2010 SP Authentic Super Jersey Auto /25

2010 Topps Unrivaled Black Patch Auto /50

2010 Epix Patch Auto /25

2010 Finest Refractor Patch Auto /99

NOW FOR THE GOOD STUFF!

For some reason this card is really hard to find
2010 Bowman Sterling Black Refractor Auto 50/50

Been wanting this card for a VERY long time!
2010 Bowman Chrome Rookie Preview Auto /25

2010 Gridiron Gear Patch Auto /15

Another card ive been drooling over for a long time
2010 Topps Five Star Quotable Auto /15

2010 Panini Threads Rookie Signatures Auto /10

2010 Contenders Rookie Roll Call Auto 10/10

2010 Contenders Rookie Of the Year Auto 10/10

Now the only card I am missing from the 2010 Contenders set for Gronkowski is his Draft Class dual auto with Hernandez /10 Anyone have it??

2010 SPx Rookie Patch Auto /10

2010 Rookie and Stars Emerald Auto /5

And last...but certainly not least...
2010 Plates and Patches Rookie Prime Signatures Football Auto 2/2

Hope you enjoyed!!! As always if you have Gronk stuff let me know...I might still need it. Im at about 380 of 560 from his rookie year. 2011-2013 im only missing a handful but feel free to let me know what you got.

I like the design on that RotY Contenders auto.

Nice haul!

Thanks. The quad auto is nice....all though after this off season only two of them will still be on the Patriots roster.

Lol thanks.....yea 4 of them would have sold for $55 or less....but there are a couple there that would sell for $100+ even with his cards being at all time low prices.

Wow! I love the Plates and Patches and the Contenders rookie of the year!

This also answers my question of who got the Finest patch/99. I thought that was a good deal for that card. I had to commit funds elsewhere so I didn't bite on that one, but I thought it was sharp.

I do have a good question for you. In all of your searching for badass Gronks, how many have you found/bought where his whole sig is on the sticker/card?

I've only seen a handful.

I finally eclipsed the 200 auto mark. I now have 208 different Gronkowski Autos....and close to 900 different cards.

That finest was actually purchased from a member on here who bought the card off ebay back in 2010-2011 so you musta been looking at a different one. He never listed it for sale on ebay because he contacted me first and I got to pick out all the cards I needed before he sold the rest of the ones he had back in December

As for autos where every last piece of the auto is actually on the sticker.....id have to check....I know from his rookie year when he signed his full last name it was usually the tops and bottoms of the Ks and the bottom of the R in rob that would normally run off the sticker. His signature now which is just Rob Gronk usually doesn't run off as much.......sometimes the R and K still will. I do try and make sure to get an auto that is mostly on the sticker though.....If the top part of the loop in the R or G go off the sticker I tend to avoid it.

Oh. Well I guess it's still a mystery then who bought it, lol

So do you go after his sigs that are completely on the sticker/card or pay more for those, or do you not have a preference?

I personally am willing to pay more for the complete auto. I like going for them since there seems to be not as many in his rookie year.

I don't like stickers, but I still buy them. There are so many awesome cards that would have been fantastic if they would have been on-card autos. You would think that would be the next obvious step in separating the card companies quality-wise.

Guess you started replying before I edited my last post lol. Like I said above....if the top loop on the R or G go off the sticker I try to avoid the auto completely. Rarity makes that difficult though and you have to take what you can get when there are 10 or less copies. However if the auto is like this one...where the top or bottom of the K come off I don't mind buying those as its not really that noticeable.

I agree getting away from stickers completely would separate the card companies.....people have been saying this for a long time...I don't see it ever happening....and if it does you will most likely see more redemptions and less autos overall. Also chances are the condition of the cards would take a hit.

Ugh. The one Gronk card I regret selling the most was my BGS 10/10 chrome auto. Even moreso than selling the Supreme book patch auto 1/1.

Sorry, yeah I noticed your reply after I'd hit submit.

Yeah, when they are extremely rare you get em when you see em; regardless of a perfect sig.

It's not just him. It's hard to find cards that have every aspect that you would want. That's what makes them so sought after.

I'll find a card with a perfect sig only to see a soft corner or rough edge or bad centering or surface imperfection. There always seems to be something.

For me I will take the card with the better condition over the card with the perfect auto. Did this just the other day with a card /10 I had two copies of. One had a clean auto but had an imperfection....the other had a bit of the R off the auto but was in near perfect condition. So I kept the one in perfect condition with the not as desirable auto.

BUT, for the same price you could've gotten a case of 2011 Timeless Treasures, which no doubt would've been full of incredible value.

Wrong decision on your part, definitely should've gotten the case.

Sweet haul!

Just because you got a bunch of awesome PC cards don't you think your money would have been spent with some mass produced junk case from Panini or Topps?

LOL Yea that was my thoughts exactly. don't get me wrong I occasionally get the itch to bust some wax but....when you look at what you can guarantee yourself with the same money over what you might get...the choice is pretty obvious
