Default Does anyone own an Electric or Battery powered snow shovel?

Thinking about getting one for my parents for Christmas, but looking for thoughts on it if anyone has or has ever used one.

My parents are getting up there,, and I usually do the shoveling for them when I'm home, but in case i'm at work or away, I was thinking about this so my dad doesn't have to lift anything when he decides to go be superman, and not wait for me to take care of it after work.

Never heard of one. Are you talking about a snow blower?

eta: I googled it and it looks like a miniature snow blower. How big is there driveway? How much snow do they get usually? Maybe just get them an electric start snow blower.

I didn't know there was such a thing. They look pretty handy if you don't have to move more than an inch or two

I have this one...worked well in my old neighborhood when I just had a sidewalk. Now, with a long driveway, I'm going to have to upgrade to a snowblower this year as the electric shovel didn't handle the driveway too well...also, the max the shovel can handle is about 6 inches of snow and if it's the thick wet kind, it does get jammed up a bit.

I honestly never did either until yesterday until one of my friends shared a video of one on Facebook.

We have a Snowblower, but I was thinking this could be a nice medium for snow that doesn't mean dragging out that beast, but still helps with not having to lift the shovel and put stress on my dads back or legs.

My dad got one a few years ago. Later that year he bought a snow blower lol. I've personally never used one but I know he didn't like it.

Snow blowers are well worth the money if you live in a state that sees a lot of snow.

we got one for my parents about 10 years ago...I think it was a toro power shovel....it was fine for the stairs and their sidewalk....now we have it and I let the kids use it to do the walkway while I shovel...its slow for them, but a little help is better than no help...

Pros:
Small, easy to store
does a good job for small areas

Cons:
Need a long extension cord
Snow could not be higher than 7 inches for it to work
will only throw the snow in front of you

I have one an electric one.
Works fairly well on driveway that is a hill. Works well with 4 inches or less. Power snow works better than wet. Need long cord and cord management can be hastle some times. But worth the $100 I spent on it.
