Default WWE UNDISPUTED Roller marks?

Hey there,

Sorry if this has already been mentioned or brought up, but I was wondering if anyone else noticed roller marks on their Undisputed cards.

I bought a case for the first time in my life, and opened most of it last night. Out of the 6 boxes i've opened, 17 of my autograph cards have roller marks on them. Every single Divas and NXT card has them.

These aren't my cards, but you can notice the damage across the centre of the card horizontally:

2015 Topps WWE Undisputed Samoa Joe NXT In Line On-Card Autograph NA-SJ!

2015 Topps WWE Undisputed NXT Buddy Murphy Purple Parallel Autograph SP 10 25 RC | eBay

Obviously these are examples of the same problem, but i'm wondering if they're all like this? Kind of annoying for such a nice product.

Thanks!

Intentional. Look at Bowman Inception over the years as an example. Part of the design.

It's part of the card. Guessing it's a result of whatever print press they used to lay the pics on the cards

For on-card autos it means they can make the image nice and glossy and more appealing without forcing the signer to pump out autos on that slick surface. I've always found it ugly, but it works.

If you look closely at the cards at an angle against a bright light, you'll see the "roller marks" are the bottom edge of the gloss varnish applied to specific parts of the card. The entire Undisputed card is a matte finish, but the wrestler's (sorry, "superstar's") body is a gloss finish. That funky dot pattern is Topps trying to "fade out" the bottom edge of the gloss. I've seen it used on Topps higher-end baseball as well. I personally don't mind it. I think I've seen it on some UD hockey products as well.

Thanks everyone for the info!!!

Interesting design, as to me it just looks like a mistake haha. It's good to know that my cards aren't damaged, that's a relief!

Thanks again, much appreciated.
