Default What's the most random football fact you know?

I saw this somewhere else and thought it would be a fun to try here. So, what's the most random football fact you know?

I'll go first.

Terry Bradshaw was the backup QB for Phil Robertson (Duck Dynasty) in college.

That Joe Theisman's real name is pronounced Theesman... and it was changed in College to rhyme with Heisman

No quarterback with more syllables in his first name than his last name has ever won the Super Bowl (applied to common names, not birth names).

Just two years after finishing their careers, approximately 78% of NFL players go bankrupt.

Drew Bledsoe is the only player in NFL history to get the associated press's "player of the week" in back to back weeks (game winning drives against Miami and Buffalo.)

Marv Fleming was the first player to play in 5 different Super Bowls, 2 with Green Bay and 3 with the Dolphins

Doug Williams and Russell Wilson are the only two black QB's to ever win a superbowl.....
EVEN CRAZIER, they both beat the Broncos to win their superbowl.
So basically the only team to ever be beaten by a black QB ever was the Broncos

A personal one -

Shortly after Ronnie Lott graduated from Eisenhower High School in Rialto CA, he went to enroll in a truck driver school.

My Dad, who was the Director of Admissions at this particular truck driving school, interviewed him, and ultimately talked him out of driving trucks for a living, and only a few months later Ronnie Lott was playing football at USC on his way to an NFL Hall of Fame career.

True Story.

Just looked that up, they are also including undrafted players so it's not as bad as it sounds. It said about 15% of DRAFTED players will go bankrupt 12 years into retirement.

You can be a mediocre football player in highschool and still make it to the NFL. See Eddie Freeman.

No player has ever won the Heisman, National Championship, MVP and Super Bowl. Cam just missed it last year. Closest player was Charles Woodson who won the Heisman and National Championship in 1997, Super Bowl in 2010 and Defensive Player of th Year in 2009.

The last (and only) time I saw JaMarcus Russell (2013), he actually appeared to not be fat.
