Default Daylight Savings Time might be permanent

The Senate just did something unanimous, it must be serious.

(still needs to pass the House)

How fast will this bill move now that it's been unanimously approved by congress?

I assume if/when house approves, Biden will sign anything so that will happen quickly.

It says potentially in-effect Nov 2023, but did I miss how long this house/Biden approval process should/can take to confirm?

It should be approved just as fast as it takes them to vote themselves a raise.

It’s rare that Arizona gets to be ahead of the curve.

Why does something like this even have to go through all this. Just go on tv and say we cancelled it and then say your welcome.

I did not know this. Any boomers out there care to explain why they couldn’t sack up and get through this the first time?

It's like when you take a midday nap, wake up, and have no idea what time or day it is. Lol

I never sleep, 'cause sleep is the cousin of death.

I'm ready for this. The only people I've heard complain about this say they're worried about kids going to school in the dark in the morning. My thought is why does the entire world have to adjust their times for the schools? Can't the schools adjust their schedules to make things work?

Passed Senate unanimously. Going to be enacted soon. According to the bill, we would do the 1 hour fall back in Fall 2022, then 1 hour ahead Spring 2023 and then as soon as we spring ahead in Spring 2023, that is now permanent. Basically a 1 year grace period to give time for companies to adjust any necessary technology

No more being dark at 5PM in the middle of winter and we get to keep the light until after 9PM in the middle of summer. I'm on board. How hard is it to change everything over. Why wait a year, and a half just do it now.

This has been done before and it never pans out. People are always excited about it at first but then they realize the effects when winter comes and sunrise doesn't occur until 9 AM (or 11:30 AM like it will here on days).

Boomers are the GOATs of “not sacking up”.
