I'd like to know who is opposed to scrapping TNF. It's regularly a crapshow.

If they do keep it as Start it around week 5 and run it to week 12 and any teams that play on Thursday get a bye week before they play in the game.

I hope they axe it. As it was said before me the only Thursday they should play is thanksgiving and I'll add the season opener as well. That's it

Yeah they need to scrap it. I am always excited for a Thursday game but disappointed and usually tune out most weeks due to the bad quality of football and terrible matchups.

Hopefully no more Thursday games will also mean no more of those stupid color rush uniforms too.

IMO the problem isn't the game and/or day of the game...it's the teams being chosen to play on Thursday. This year the NFL did a terrible job in predicting which teams are "must watch".

I think if they want to keep it the teams on their Bye week the week prior should be the only ones that could play the following Thursday. This gives all teams that time they need to rest

On the bright side, we are getting a GREAT matchup this Thursday.

I hate late games so I'm ok with scrapping it. I wish Sunday and Monday night games started at 6:00....it's too painful to stay up that late and Work the next day.

Exactly----NBC gets some sweet matchups for the Sunday night games and the Thursday night games are usually terrible matchups.

The problem is that the Thursday matchups are built with the priority being making sure every team has a Thursday game. For Sunday, they can pick the best matchups and then flex a game if they need to (last night).

Speaking of last night's game, that was one for the ages.

don't get your hopes up. I've heard the league has denied this already.

now, i enjoy the extra night of football games to enjoy during teh week. I just wish it wasn't such an inferior product because guys have zero time to rest and practice.

If they required that only teams playing on Thursday were fresh off of a bye, I'd be game. Doesn't threaten player health with a shortened recovery period, and teams have more time to prepare so the product should be better. I know they like their "flex" scheduling, but this is just better for the game.

Considering every team in the league gets at least one Thursday game a season, you're going to get stuck with the bottom of the barrel teams that people aren't interested in unless they're a fan.

Dallas, Carolina, Minnesota, and Denver are/will be the fours teams that play on Thursday twice this season, and considering they all have pretty decent sized fan bases, I'd say the NFL did a good job of scheduling.

If they take away the Thursday night game, I'd love to see a Sunday night double header--one with a 6 PM start and one with a 9 PM start.

A Saturday 1 PM EST game sounds awesome too. Imagine being able to tailgate & party during the game without having to work the next day. It's not like there are that many awesome college games in the early Saturday slot and the areas of the country that are big NFL areas don't overlap that much with college football areas.

I'm not a fan of Thursday games but I often do watch if only for 30 minutes or so because it's the only thing on that night. If they spread out the Sunday games a little with a Sunday night double-header AND had a 1 PM Saturday showcase game, it would keep more overall eyeballs on the NFL than if they just eliminate the Thursday game and have 1 more 1 PM Sunday start.
