Default Eligible since 2011. Why is Jeff Bagwell not in the HOF yet?

With the great numbers that Jeff Bagwell put up in his 15 years with Houston it hurts to see him not in the HOF yet? I know he's been on the ballot twice already. When will he be on the ballot again? Some say that some of the BBWAA writers are holding against him the time frame in which he played, the PED era as they say but without proof & Bagwell denying using them why keep him out. Any thought or opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think it's BS how the writers are keeping great players out. It's the Hall Of Fame, not Hall of Moral Integrity. Half the players where on something/still are. Drugs, performance enhancers( hate that everything is lumped I to that one phrase.

I think they should he voted on by the numbers the put up, end of story. Bonds not being in makes no sense at all. I vote let everyone juice, boom problem solved!

I think if it's proven they used &/or lied under oath to a grand jury or inquiry then it's a different story. I also feel it should be based entirely on their numbers or production.

He took steroids......

He will get in I think

But its a joke.... McGwire bonds Clemens etc... should all get in....

50-60-70 percent of league was on it...

It was a witch hunt.... MLB has handled this as bad as the drug IMO

Exactly. It kills me that people just assume and NO proof has come forward. This guy has better numbers than Frank Thomas AND played a stellar first base, unlike Thomas.

Where is the proof? I just don't see it anywhere as he & other have fallen victim to circumstance.
Jeff Bagwell is a Victim of The Steroid Era

Some of you are just kidding yourselves. Bagwell, like about 80% of the league used PED's and that's why he's not in and won't be for the forseeable future.

A player who played with The Rocket and Andy. We both know how clean they are. And oh yeah a player who still socializes with them. You would think if trying to separate yourself from the riff raff you would do so not joining their charity softball games. While not proof its all most need to see to know something is up.

He is one of my favorite players of all time but c'mon, you can't honestly believe that he was clean. You think it is a coincidence that little Biggio was voted in but redwood neck Bagwell hasn't been? Does that mean Biggio never used? No. Does that mean Bagwell did? No, but if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and hits prodigious 550+ home runs over and over, it isn't an aardvark.

You can't really judge someone by the company they keep or can you? I mean I've known robbers, tax evaders, drug smugglers & killers but I sure as hell am not one of those.

Biggio is not in the HOF yet either. Neither Biggio or Bagwell hit 550 plus HRs.

Ummmm, you may want to reevaluate the circles that you walk in, just saying.

Crap, you're right. I could have sworn he made it last year. He'll be in this year, Jeff won't be.

We can only hope. It was a shame he didn't get in this past year.
