Hi all,
I submitted 10 x 1988 Fleer BKBL packs to PSA a while back for grading. It takes months to get them back which is fine, but when I did, 6/10 have rips in the wrappers. I know they were not there as I have others and sent only the very best ones. I have sent a few before, and they all got 7/8/9's and came back with no damage. I even handed them in directly to PSA at a show. Along with this, they indicated the player that was on the sticker on back which I didn't ask for (only wanted 1988 Fleer Pack on there so if I resold them, they would be attractive to more buyers). All of the packs came back as 7/8's. I contacted PSA on the issues and they agreed to take them back and evaluate the damage/fix the labels, but I am really worried that they will just get damaged more with more travel around the country. They also said that while evaluating the damage, they would compensate based on the market value up to the insured cost (I put $99 per pack on the sub). They are not horribly expensive packs, but obviously have now lost some of their value. I tried to just get them to refund some of the grading fees or even just issue a credit, but they said they had to have them back. What would you do in this situation? I'm thinking I might just have to bite the bullet and send them back, but imagine they will probably re-grade the damaged packs much lower and then offer me very low compensation. I have had issues now with both TPGs 3 times while only submitting about 6 orders. I really wish I could just have an easy transaction one of these times....Thanks for your thoughts! |

Sounds like they are doing what they can. Obviously they can't blindly offer a refund or credit. Everybody would be calling up with complaints if that were the case. It's a bad situation that in the end hits you the most. It sounds like PSA is being open to your feedback though and doing what they can to support you. I would make sure to get an individual to stay in contact with and follow up with them when you ship them and ask for feedback when they are received.

Wow that is insane. Were any of them jordan sticker backs? I would note to PSA those are worth more than the avg pack if so.
As far as the graded sticker backs..Mark Aguirre is one I wouldn't remove from the label since his PSA 9 goes so high.-Could sell above a normal unlabeled back sticker version by a few bucks. |

Luckily none were Jordan sticker backs, I sent those in the first sub and they came back fine (all 8's IIRC). I will take a look if any are Aguirre and maybe leave those as is... |

The last 9 sold for $1800 with PWCC. I think a 10 would be a 10k card. This is just my opinion maybe, but I would think that knowing that sticker is inside holds pretty decent value or should. Also the pop is 4 on those packs. 2-8s 2-9s
