Default The “maybe” official Houston Rockets 2024-2025 Thread

I’m clearly not sure if there is a Rockets thread, but I’m also too lazy to look. Let’s talk this year.

I’m exceptionally excited for this season. I love what Amen Thompson brings to the floor which isn’t reflected in stats. Huge fan of the upside on Cam Whitmore, have a very nice PC. Love his potential on the offensive end.
I also think Sengun is going to take the next step. His game is as close to the joker one can get without being the joker. I hope he starts to stretch the floor more and more. Not in love with Jalen Green and love what Steven Adams brings to the table.

All in all, I am hoping they break into the playoffs or at least the play-in.

Team success aside, I'm hoping this season reveals a bit more about what the team's gameplan is going forward

It seems like with the exception of Sengun at C, none of our positions are really solidified yet and we don't have a great idea of where people belong long term

I'm hoping Cam and Jalen can take another step this year so we can move towards having a really solidified starting five

I like Smith. Seems like he could be a Bosh level player with the right opportunities.

I like Bari too but he needs some confidence

He's 6'11 and can move fast much in the same way Paolo can but he plays smaller

Jabari has the perfect NBA build without any of the dog in him.

He's got skills but from the outside looking in it doesn't look like he has the desire to be great.

I’m indifferent on smith. I like him, but not sure if he’s here long term. Very intrigued on Sheppard too.

Definitely a “where and how do you use this talent?” Situation that you love to have, but also don’t utilize properly. I have more enjoyment watching this group than I did at the back end of the harden era.

Why not Jalen Green? Had pretty awesome stretch of games, I’m definitely most excited to see him consistently play like he did on that stretch.

He's just not a good NBA player, and he doesn't impact winning basketball. Offensive and defensive black hole who tricks people into thinking he's good with some highlight plays

😍😍😍

All of this. He is NOT “him.”

Slight frame, inconsistent shooter and doesn’t make players better around him. I’ll gladly eat crow if he’s makes the jump. I just don’t believe in him.

Decent mail day today, these are 2 of my favorites

Easily my favorite Cam. I have a pretty nice size collection and am a sucker for mosaics.

Nice, I'm a big mosaic fan as well, genesis/peacock in particular

Here's a Bari genesis I got semi-recently as well as a non-rookie nebula from donruss elite

VERY NICE!

Last game I went to was Smith’s game winner at the buzzer during his rookie year.

They’re bring Thompson and Tari off the bench for defense. I’m very excited to see it. If Thompsons jumper is somehow fixed, he’s a star waiting to happen.

I am hoping they stay healthy down the stretch. I would like to see how far they can go with this year's roster. I really like the play of Jalen Green and Cam Whitmore. I would like to share a few nice picks made of both these players.

Both of these are #007/249

They committed to Jalen and the mini-joker. I like the 3 years for Green. I think it just buys Stone some time, but it’s not max.

I'm not a huge Jalen guy either but I like this deal

If there's one thing he does have it's potential and some guys just take longer

While only the first game, very unimpressed with Jalen greens shooting. Why is Dillon Brooks on the floor? He’s useless.

Not a Rockets fan but came here to say that Sengun is an absolute monster. Impressed.

I agree. Needs to figure out out to get rid of the ball or score when collapsed on. My buddy said it best, Jalen Green plays like he’s on an AAU team.

I was actually more impressed with Jalen than pretty much every player besides Sengun, numbers wise he was our most efficient shooter and made a couple really clutch shots to keep us in it. On top of that his defense was great.

You're right, Dillon Brooks (and FVV) did basically nothing. Brooks played good D so I can kind of excuse him (because really that's what he's there for) but FVV is there to make shots and he was really bad at doing that last night.

Jalen Green tends to be awful to start the season every year and then looks decent after all-star break pretty much every year.

Yesterday was not a surprise with him.

Run through Sengun, surround him with slashers and shooters and watch the Rockets start rolling. Sengun only had 5 assists but provided his teammates with an additional 4-5 wide open shots that were clanked off the rim.
