Default 2020 Topps Retail vs Hobby

I noticed the retail boxes are about $52 shipped on eBay and Hobby run about $70 or more on ebay, Blowout, D&A.

Hobby is 24 packs/14 per
Retail is 24 packs/16 per

Hobby guarantees a probably worthless relic or maybe if you are lucky an autograph (probably also worthless).

Before I buy a few, convince me why I should spend the extra on hobby boxes...

I don’t have the 2020 odds, but some of the parallels are easier to hit or exclusive to hobby/jumbo usually. Like black, clear, SSP, etc

I thought it was established that hangers are the way to go?

On a pack-by-pack basis, the blaster box was a bit more fun to rip to me than hobby -- more inserts per pack and a little more variety. (Hobby box was heavy on 1985 content when add in the Chromes atop regular. It's not my favorite inclusion.)

For me it’s only jumbo boxes, hangar boxes, or singles

I have done 3 hobby and 2 jumbo boxes. Getting hobby at $68 and Jumbo at $130. If you take out that Aaron Auto the Hobby would not have looked great. I would be going with Jumbo if close to this pricing.

1st Jumbo
Lux Advanced Stats
Strawberry Gold Auto
G Cole Sp

2nd Jumbo
Yordan Advanced Stats
Xander Gold Auto

1st Hobby
Bichette Sp
Some Relic

2nd Hobby
No Sp
Some relic

3rd Hobby
G Cole Sp
Hank Aaron Red Auto /25

For sure, but seriously: didn't they figure out the odds in the 2020 series one thread and clearly hangers were the way to go?

I still don't see the value here. Color is so watered down, which leaves you with astronomical odds to hit anything of value. Crazy overproduction this year.
