So i bought a box with my MC membership and decided to pack it out on eBay, $40 per pack.. sold them all in a few days.

I get an eBay message from one of the buyers tonight, 1 pack got him this:

I don't understand. What makes this a horror story? Nice card or am I missing something?

What kind of monster would send you that? If I pulled that I wouldn't send the seller anything, just seems like rubbing it in lol. Good for that guy though, I guess that's the risk we take when selling

Blackjack players win some hands, but the house always wins in the long run.

That's just ONE card too. The rest of the box...probably another $2000 worth of cards. Imagine what you don't know.

Do you sell individual packs from Update blasters too?

I love seeing your listings.

You can also look at it this way:

You made a 250-300% profit simply by being a member of something AND you made somebody's year by providing them with a pack that they'll talk about forever. There are probably 20 other consumers who didn't email you their pack contents who were left saying something like "well, fun $40 gamble but not sure this Rhys Hoskins base is going to recoup my costs".

I guess I just don't get it. You made bank on an easy investment AND contributed to someone else's happiness. I understand you'd rather have kept and pulled the card but when you sell the packs aren't you hoping someone hits something crazy? I sure would be.

Ripped and shipped a box of Topps chrome for a customer that had been sitting in my pile for months that I thought about opening tons of times and hit him a Gleyber orange auto that did a 9.5. It happens, but never a good feeling.

$1,000 for a box is a pretty good return. Most are selling for around $650-700.

And there are people that buy 2011 Update packs with $1 returns @ $200 for 8 cards. I’d take the sure profit over a slim chance at a card of that status.

You had the right attitude though. The card gods will reward you for this line:
"But I am extremely happy for him, and I’m glad to add an awesome card to my PC. I’ll reveal it here once I receive it. Sometimes ya win and sometimes ya lose. That’s what makes this hobby awesome!"
