So I’m starting to get back into basketball cards and looking into purchasing some cards on eBay. What is the general consensus on rankings of rookie cards? I’ve noticed prizm Silver and NT RPA’s seem to be at the top or near the top of value. Where do Revolution, Select, Hoop, etc rank as far as desired must haves? I know it comes down to preferences, but I kinda need a crash course on generally cornerstone rookie cards.

Do a search. This has been discussed multiple times in depth. Lots of detail in those threads.

It’s going to vary person to person, and even year to year with different sets.
You listed 2 of the top ones though, that also have continuity. |

There are varying interesting options for low, mid, upper tier. Personally I really like select, noir, one and one, court kings. Not big fan of prizm aesthetic and high pops. I find NT boring. A lot comes down to personal taste and the why behind one's reasons for buying cards. Aesthetics and value are both important to me.

Seems like there is just so much out there... I get it’s always subjective. Optic variations, courtsides, and Prizm Silvers have been my focus— looking into Mosaic’s... the Noir’s look nice, haven’t ventured there yet. I love the immaculate acetate RPA’s, but looks like the NT is where the demand really is. With so much out there, just trying to narrow my focus. Other than watching what’s selling on EBay, just wanted to get a crash course on the main basketball card focus, thanks again.
