Default 2008 UD Masterpieces assistance needed

I have been collecting Framed masterpieces and everything I see checklist wise has 1/1s as Red or Pinot Red.

A Scherzer card popped up on ‘the Bay’ and it’s Gold Framed 1/1? I have a framed gold already #/10. So does anyone know if the pinot red or this other gold is the true 1/1?

Any help is appreciated.

Golds are out of 10. Ask for a scan of the serial number.

The seller used to be a HUGE buyer of the framed colors. I sold many to him back in the day.

I'm not an expert on this set by any means but was poking around after seeing your question and curious about this myself. Could you post pictures of your gold framed /10 alongside the eBay listing of the gold 1/1? This may be hard to tell based on lighting since some of the parallels in this set had very subtle differences, but I'm curious to see how the two look side by side

The Golds /10 from COMC (top 2 in image below) looks much red-er to me than the Gold 1/1 eBay listing you linked (listed on bottom below along with another 1/1 I found in completed listings)

Based on that, I'm was wondering if the parallels UD released (relevant here are Framed Gold /10 and Framed Pinot Red /1) were incorrect and the serials on those two should be swapped. But if your /10 that you have already isn't the red-ish color in the top 2 cards above, than that kills that idea. But if it is that same red-ish color, then my guess is the checklists may have the wrong info and the parallels should actually Framed Pinot Red /10 and Framed Gold 1/1. The two 1/1s in the image above certainly don't look like something I'd call Pinot Red, and the checklists don't have any other 1/1 parallels listed, so even if it's not supposed to be a gold 1/1, I'm not sure what else you could call it

For what it's worth, here's a COMC Pinot Red (/75) from the 2007 set - https://www.comc.com/Cards/Baseball/...emente/3712818

Looks to me like that's pretty close in color as the /10s from 2008. So I'm thinking in 2008 the Pinot Reds are labeled as 1/1s on the checklists but actually stamped /10, and the Golds are labeled as /10 on the checklists but actually stamped 1/1

Thanks for the help. I guess I’ll have to take it as being the one of one since the seller is recognized. Color is slightly different. Just not the dark red I was expecting I guess.

Here’s the gold in natural light and under light

Cool, that looks in line with the others I’ve seen. Based on that at this point my guess is that the checklists are just mislabeled and the Golds are 1/1s and the Pinot Reds are /10. Maybe there’s someone else out there that can confirm or dispute that, but that’s what makes sense to me

Thanks for the help and input. Definitely a little tricky to figure out.

I pulled the Andre Either 1/1 and, granted it was awhile ago, but I remember it looking brownish with a lot of sparkle. The golds are pretty distinguishable from the 1/1s.

Blowout used to have these on Black Friday for something like $300 for a 20 box case....good times.
