Over the last 24 hours, I've seen some of the same high-end 90s MJ cards (different grades) being listed by different sellers in a FB group.
I was a little shocked because these cards aren't always available (except maybe on eBay) and because they were all listed within a short timeframe (less than or equal to 24 hours). For instance, I've seen 3-4 of the 1998-99 Hoops Bams (one being a Slam Bams) and 2-3 of the 1998-99 SkyBox Molten Metal Fusions pop up. Is this a coincidence or is this some MJ pump group that realized now's the time to dump such cards before prices further decline (which I assume is the reason why they're moving such cards to begin with)? This is not a troll thread, I'm naturally curious. |

Coincidentally, last night someone bought a PSA 10 insert MJ I had listed on Myslabs for over the last few eBay comps. I’m happy.

I can't speak for everyone but maybe they're selling those 90's stuff to get into something bigger?
I sold several high end 90's MJ grail cards to pickup some ultra high end Exquisite MJ's. Maybe they're doing something similar or getting into Game Used Jerseys and Shoes perhaps. I'm sure there are some that also think the top is in for their 90's inserts and see some price softening. Maybe they're trying to maximize profit and get back in when the price has gone down some more. Or they see some nice cards on Goldin/PWCC and want to grab those cards without spending their cash. |

How all these cards suddenly became available was definitely shocking to me (and the cards that I referenced are relatively rare, print-runs of 250 or less). |

So many double posts today. The system must be wonky! I think the GOAT pump really overvalued a lot of players and there are a lot of other opportunities right now. 1993 Fleer Ultra base PSA 10's Jordans are still selling for $140.
For $140 you could get into a lot better stuff. The upper end Jordan stuff is still insane and moving into something else might be a good move right now.

With that said, these are cards that people (if they own them) are unlikely to have multiples of (some might but most won't). From an investment standpoint, I understand your logic. And I do feel that the individuals moving such cards are more investors than collectors. Probably just caught me off guard seeing the number of such cards becoming available within a short span of time. Even if only 2-4 copies of such cards, that's still a decent number of such cards suddenly becoming available in a 24-hour period. |

At the same time, they're still not really available at discounts. lol. Their asking price is still very high. Actually, most Michael Jordan cards I want are NOT on discount and I see "SOLD" posts on FB and IG everywhere... meaning they are still selling strong. |

Literally the same exact thing happened to me. Mine was a PSA 10 rock stars refractor that had been on there so long it was priced $1000 over the last sale. Probably the same buyer as yours.

A lot of cards definitely went up faster than they should've. Just surprised me to see the same high-end (and iconic) 90s cards of the GOAT being dumped fast. I'm curious to know if the guys are dumping without intention of reinvesting in other cards or if they plan to put it towards another opportunity. Taking money out of rare/iconic 90s cards of the hobby GOAT makes me think the former. Quote:
I only noticed this because I wanted the MJ Molten Metal Fusion /250 at one point. Still do but not at the current price-point. Quote:

Pretty simple imo. LOTS of people are dumping LOTS of cards right now. High end, Low End, Numbered, SSP, base.

Lots of people can dump high end cards right now but that will not increase the pop. The number of MJ Rave Reviews graded nine has got to be less than 20.
