I got the ‘73 Clemente because it has his entire career stats on the back.
Who else has cards worth collecting that have their entire career on the back?

1993 Score Select Traded Nolan Ryan Tribute.
I'm embarrassed to say how many packs I bought to finally pull this card. Pic stolen from Ebay as I'm too lazy to dig mine out. The front is pretty damn cool to boot. Who doesn't like Dufex? ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk |

Don't have a pic of the back but I have a 1996 Topps Don Mattingly in PSA 10. Looks cool to see his entire career on the back of his last official Topps base card.

In 1997 and 1998, Upper Deck did a series of “Final Tribute” cards in their flagship and Collectors choice releases that did a great job with cards like this. Some of those included were:
Ozzie Smith Ryne Sandberg Andre Dawson Wade Boggs Paul Molitor Fernando Venezuela Lee Smith Denny Martinez Darren Dutch Daulton Tony Peña Mickey Tettleton (?!?) |

“Worth collecting” means different things to different people. Such cards are sometimes only known by dedicated Team Collectors, because they are for brief Major Leaguers like Bubba Starling’s 2021 S2 card.
There have been a few more such cards than usual from Topps the last few years, among well-known players. Andrew Miller had one in 2022 S1. I fully expect a Pujols card in 23 S1. I have been winnowing out my 2021 Topps the last few days, a design I just hate. But there were some nice “Sunset” cards in it, including Alex Gordon in S1, and Jason Kipnis & Shin Soo-Choo in S2. Topps even gave Ryan Braun a “curtain call” photo in 2020 Topps then continued the farewell with cards in numerous sets in 2021. And of course, such complete stats cards are issued routinely in Archives. |

Not very collectible based purely on value, but I always loved Jim Kaat’s cards in the early 80s… practically need a loupe to read the backs.

Lovely! The final tribute set led me to a few cards, and 1994 Topps has a few (Yount, Brett, Nolan)
Picked up an ‘87 Rose, a ‘22 Posey, and a ‘96 Mattingly. Thanks for the tips.

This instantly became my favorite card back when I first pulled it from a pack a few decades ago:
![]() ![]() Sure, I've heard of Cal Ripken and Jose Canseco who were pretty much the faces of baseball at the time. But seeing those stats on the back of that card, I'd never seen someone dominate the league like that back when I was still a young kid. Needless to say, I thought Mike Schmidt must've been a baseball god. The above pics aren't mine. But I still have the original 1990 Donruss Schmidt that I had pulled from over 30 yrs earlier. |

Interesting question that I had never really thought of. Now that I’m looking into a few players, it seems really inconsistent as to whether or not a player has a card in the year after he retires. Anyone know why so inconsistent? Or what might cause a card to be included for that one extra year?

Inconsistent, just, because. It would be up to the editor of the checklist. Sometimes they probably expect a long-time Veteran to sign for one more year but that then doesn’t happen. Other times it clearly seems to be a deliberate tribute.
I neglected to mention 2 more in 2021 Series Two - Gio Gonzalez and Howie Kendrick. There could well be a few more; I never finished that set. I did figure out a likely reason for the unusually high number in that release - the truncated 2020 season might have made it a touch more difficult to fill the checklist with fringe RC cards. |

Is there a good reprint/archives/tribute set or series that shows career stats on the back. Would prefer also if it lists season by season.
Talking mainly about old-time players, I know this can usually be found for modern players. Trying to do some history of baseball stuff with my kids, and it would be helpful if I could find cards of old hall of fame players that also lists a lot of stats. |

Thanks, I’ll check out that set.
Looking at cards on comc that have been released in the last 40-50 years to honor old time hall of fame players, the amount of stats/info on the backs of those cards seem very hit or miss. |
