Why own one of the 50,000 physical Lamelo prizm rookies when you can own one of 20,000 NFT's of Lamelo Prizm

They’ve been pretty committed so far to scarcity with their NFTs, usually no NFTs are numbered higher than /10 so far.

That might change now a bit with Prizm being the first non-High end release, but I doubt that Panini is escalating card counts now since Topshot created such a mess with their common /40k.

Don’t put faith in panini to keep things scarce. Look all around you, clues everywhere

This is so stupid for actual collectors of physical cards

Someone tell me why I am wrong in that statement

They’ve been pretty conservative so far with the NFTs and they announced in May that they’ll make their private Blockchain Public.

It’s the beauty of a public Blockchain that there’s full transparency for releases and sales. If you get too greedy like Dapper with NBA Topshot you’ll get called out in public and things can go south fast. To manage and balance scarcity will be the key.

They also tight their NFTs with USD only, so you don’t have the dual volatility for player performance and crypto currency (like TOPPS MLB NFT on wax, where your Tatis Jr. is down in value, because crypto is down). My sales go immediately to my PayPal in USD on Panini BC.

They got a lot of flak in the past for their NFT projects, but they IMO observed the NFT market pretty well so far.

will "digital" cards be off-center cut as well? I'd expect nothing less.

So the question is, can you keep the packs unopened?

You have to wait until said athlete or retried player signs the docusign document before that redemption card can be yours.

Wonder how fast packs will sell out. No way does this last long knowing how things are today.

I am very curious how this goes. If this goes really well, will we see NFTs for all the major brands? Have to assume a football one is the works. Lawrence hype is a good way to kick off all the football.

How does this affect physical cards? I am still of the opinion, at some point digital stuff will find the right formula and take off. A large chunk of gamblers/flippers will just those platforms especially younger people. Lots of advantages - storage, shipping, instant transaction, etc. There will be a transition of market cap going from physical to digital.

What does this do for bitcoin and eth prices? Is Panini blockchain on eth? Or did they develop something on their own?

All of the covid stuff "sped" up the natural market in every industry by 5-10 years. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

They’ve their own Hyperledger Sawtooth Blockchain embedded in their Homepage or Panini Direct App.

It all works with PayPal, they mentioned in May that crypto currencies are supposed to be accepted, but haven’t seen any news on this ... so far it’s fiat only.
