Just bought a card for around $180 that eBay is making the seller ship for authentication. I thought that was only for cards over $250 and the FAQ still says that. Anyone know if something is changing?

Did you buy at OBO of $180? I have listed cards above the authenticity guarantee threshold and accepted offers for less to get them sold, but it still makes me send it to the authenticator. They should probably build some logic in that would help to avoid that, but I don't think they have.

Likely started with a BIN over 250. That will trigger it

Thanks guys. I probably didn't even see the listing until it had a bid and the >$250 BIN was gone.

Either originally had a buy it now of 250+ on the auction, which went away with a bid, or possibly the seller had it at fixed price buy-it-now at 250+, then sent it to auction. I believe that might retain the AG.
