Created for fellow beisbolcats fans so we are spared the embarrassment of bumping the 2022 thread.
This year is kind of a wash - we'll see what they do once Miggy's contract is gone.

Only 15-0 to the Rays today! Season is still young, right?

Looked awful in all phases of the game today. At least Tork is making hard contact. Meadows and Carp are doing well. If Meadows keeps this up, he will be a great trade piece at the all star break. There are some guys in this lineup that are triple AAA players. Going to be another long year.

The Tigers are once again having the top of the order go 2-23 with 3 BB which includes a 22 Million dollar infielder. Our nearly 40 year old 32 Million dollar player who reached base 3 times today and had 1/4 hits yesterday will be gone. How much more ugly will this offense become? It’s not going to become better by having a player who is far from being the most feared hitter for a span of years but still happens to be above everybody the Tigers currently have be gone.

Consensus over/under ‘round home here is 62 Wins. I got high on the Hopium and picked way over @ 72, cuz young players do work hard in hopes of escape from such a fate as this. Plus ‘72 is a good Michigan number when you’re hoping to turn the page.
We will start out in yet another big hole in April and we do have to play ALL the real pro teams on both coasts this year, which will suck, but we do also get to play Cincinnati & Colorado, and both teams in Chicago. |

Sure, down by 8 runs when scoring 1st run and down by 9 scoring a futile 2nd run. That’s like critiquing a player for hitting into a GIDP when up or down by 8 runs, virtually meaningless.
This team needs to score runs early or the starters are going to have zero confidence. |

1. Start by figuring out why every prospect pitcher in the organization is receiving Tommy John surgery. 2. Don’t dump a star player “though that isn’t the case anymore” for a pile of coal hoping to locate a diamond. 3. If Detroit hopes to keep anybody who does blossom, being on a never ending rebuild isn’t the process of success. 4. My hand has already received carpel tunnel surgery, probably because I watch the Tigers and this is the result. |

Greene was in the two hole today surrounded by Matt Vierling and Javy Bozo. Then Torkelson is in the five spot flanked by Austin Meadows and Nick Maton. They're set up for failure and these two are basically who the franchise hinges on at this point. And for godsakes, find some international players for once. This team NEVER signs anybody worth a damn in the international market. |

Dickerson started mentioning the players to watch at Toledo today. Game #3.
This did remind me I have a question for y’all: is Campos going to play in Grand Rapids this year? |

OK, that was pretty cool opening day first pitch. One legend from each of the four major sports.

Yes, then things went south - but for a moment, Detroit sports had some glory.

Auston Meadows to the IL with anxiety. Second season in a row with someone having a mental breakdown on the team.
Hopefully, Javy Bozo is next and decides to retire. |

I now have the theme song from Hee Haw running through my head. If it weren’t for bad luck..

It was Meadows last year too. Heart goes out to him. Hope he can bounce back.
