Upper Deck NIL Cards Coming - NCAA Hockey?

The company’s deal with Brandr Group, a student-athlete representation agency and collegiate brand licensing firm CLC, gives it the rights to produce cards for college athletes across a wide variety of men’s and women’s sports.

There’s no release date yet, but Upper Deck will make a World of Sports Volume 1 product that will include school logos and trademarks for the schools where the athletes compete.

The cards will feature cards and autographs of basketball, football and baseball players but also what the company calls “emerging athletes” across women’s and men’s sports including softball, gymnastics, field hockey, soccer and volleyball. Upper Deck cited the University of Nebraska women’s volleyball team and its record-setting attendance numbers as well as North Carolina’s back-to-back field hockey championship team.

Hoping this means some NCAA Hockey!

Considering there’s two posts here and one is you updating on the checklist I’d say the market isn’t really there lol so I doubt they will go deeper moving forward. If the one guy a year end up with Bedard hype would still be a huge pull like his pre-NHL stuff

Aren't more top end players, including McKenna, playing college hockey this year?

If those guys start getting cards it might be a little interesting. Considering they do CHL, AHL & Canada Juniors sets that get little fanfare, thinking this would be a notch below those.

If McKenna goes #1 overall next year. 4 out of the last 8 #1 picks will have played college hockey.

The deal is with an agency, not the NCAA, so it'll be individual player licensing which is standard with Upper Deck anyway with player exclusives. If the player you collect ends up being successful, there is value down the line especially if its online only

It’s like the NIL version of Goodwin Champions lol needs a big exclusive for people to really get into a set like that which could happen I mean Panini got Jannik Sinner in tennis which would be enough alone to move a product

McKenna will have Bedard hype soon, add him and also bring in top prospects like Martone, Hutson, McQueen, Eiserman and Lindstrom
