Default Ebay advice needed

I won an auction on January 14. The card sold for under $20. A week or so went by, and I hadn't seen any indication that the card shipped. I'm patient, so that's not a big deal. But I noticed the seller had listed the exact card (same PSA cert and photo) for a BIN listing for $200.

Obviously, this makes me think the seller wasn't happy with the auction price and isn't going to honor the sale. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt and simply messaged asking if he had any tracking info for my card yet. I heard no response. So several days later, I messaged with a link to the BIN listing and asked if something was going on with my order since he relisted the card I bought. Still no response.

So what should I do? If I cancel the order and ask for a refund, will that open me up to any consequences? Should I just leave a negative? It should be noted, it's less than $20, so I'm not all that worried about getting my money. And since I never sell cards, I'm also not all that worried about a retaliatory negative. With those things in mind, what's the play here?

You just file with ebay that you never received the item. They will investigate and see no tracking has a package at your place. They will issue your refund. You cannot get negative feedback. Unfortunetly, this is a bad practice that happens and all you can do is put that seller on spotlight.

You can ask for a refund without consequences since there is no tracking information.

After a certain amount of time has passed, this will become an option. Follow the this process and it should have no negative consequences for you.

Thanks guys. I guess after hundreds of ebay purchases I've been lucky to never have to do that. Usually, if there's an issue the seller at least responds to messages and we go from there. Never had one completely ghost me. Appreciate the help.

Also, I think you need to do it soon. IIRC you have a max of 31 days. Some sellers scam by not mailing items and hoping the buyer doesn't file within the time frame.

You file for item not received once eBay allows you. Click the button and it will tell you if it’s too early.

Poor behavior on the sellers part. What’s their username so we can avoid.

Here are the two listings. I don't want to make a big deal over a $20 card. Especially one as embarrassing as this But I understand people wanting to know the seller.

Thank you. Atleast I can add him to my block list so he never buys from me.

I think he's under the impression Lux's cards still have value. I'm not sure why he would run an auction when it will inevitably end for 1/10th what he wants.

Since there’s a record of the sale and same card shortly relisted, doesn’t eBay hold those sellers responsible? Suspended them? Three strikes kicked off?

I dropped a bubble mailer for a card in the PO box this past Monday and tracking still hasn't updated yet, either.

It's still on "Awaiting Item" even though I dropped it off 6 days ago with 5 other ESE's that have had tracking updated. I fear that I will be SOL on that one.

That's not all that unusual. Ebay self insures their standard envelope program and you should be fine.

Just don't relist the same card. That would be bad.

Definitely neg worthy. Seller is sitting on your money while not shipping , ghosting, and relisting. Yea that’s ridiculous.

Bad enough when sellers cancel and refund auction sales right after they end…but this is another level.

Did you have the address for the seller? I could drop by and see them to see what's up.

This happened to me in December. Guy never sent the card (I did win it for $100), never responded to my emails and had to go through eBay to get my money back. He then relisted it for $250 a few weeks later. I reported it to eBay and it was taken down a couple days later. I would definitely report to them that he is doing this.

I love the fact you are already buying the Red's new pickups. I bought Francona & Singer auto cards immediately. Haven't done Lux yet. I don't know much about him.

Haha, yep, can't help myself.

Here's the Francona I bought:

It rarely works out though. What am I supposed to do with this?
