What are your current collection goals? I was going to make a collection goal thread for 2025 but the year is almost over. So I figured I’d ask what you’re collection goal for now is. I’ll make one for 2026 when the new year rings in.
Mine was to consolidate and focus on some bigger cards of college players or nfl players I liked. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm pretty sure the old lady's collection put her on the pedestal for this year.

Try and complete the Phoenix rainbow (up to what’s I can afford) for Micheal Penix. Need 6 more but have never seen one particular one pop up. Get 1 more on card auto of his.

My top priorities right now are white sparkles of Alabama players and Topps Now AUSL black parallels of Talons players.

Same goal: my PSA graded Niner base rookie collection. Added two 60s cards this week.

Get rid of stuff I held too long and clear up the books. Start fresh in 2026

Same as last year: Didn't make as much progress as I wanted this year.
Buy less wax: Success for the most part, I haven't bought much. B Get rid of base/junk: I have sorted most of it, threw some out, still have a lot. D Sell Graded/autos/RCs of non PC stuff: Sent some to COMC, put a few up on ebay. C COMC: Get port down to under 2000 cards. I added as much as I sold, but moving inventory. C Take all the proceeds from that list and put into a few bigger HOF RCs on my want list. |

For so many years, I have answered this question the same way - get rid of stuff. Thin down my PC, sell things that don't have much meaning to me, refocus, etc. I'm actually in a spot now that I have gotten things pretty streamlined and can start expanding on new interests, while still having a sharp focus on my main PCs.
Basically for 2026, my goal is to beef up my NCAA collection, while being smart while I do it. Adding Heisman winners, or upgrading what I have to something that is more appealling to me, is one of my primary focuses. I'm also adding low grade PSAs of Topps 1955 All Americans, with the only criteria that they be graded lower than the Nile Kinnick I have. I'll probably upgrade the Kinnick at some point to loosen that standard, but it does help keep things more affordable. On the topic of graded cards, I don't really do a whole lot with grading, but have been inspired by 88horsepower to get the 1989 Pro Set draft pick cards in a PSA 10. I pick around at the 2005 Topps All American auto set, and hope to keep adding SPs as they become available, and also try to buy Elite die cut rookies of guys I liked in college where they are pictured in their NCAA uniforms. Some of these collections are a bit more aggressive than others, but being able to be laid back on the others is nice for me to keep me from hyper-focusing on just one thing too hard.

Collect as many Raiders cards as possible. My goal is 100,000 different cards by my birthday next year.

Actual collecting: Still whittling away at my 1999-2005 Longhorns wantlist. Have a 1999 Absolute Honors Gold Ricky Williams /25 at the authenticator now that I overpaid for. Need to keep posting PC pictures on my new website for nobody to look at.
Sellling: Need to move some older/low-end lots on Sportlots auctions to clear space. Need to decide whether team/player lots on eBay are still worth it, or try to migrate to singles only. Need to remember if I do stick with team lots, to make them larger. I have done better this year about not buying large lots just for the sake of a seemingly good deal.

I am working on the rainbow for Nate Wiggins, currently need 8 of them for the non-auto and 2 for the auto and have never seen a White Shimmer 1/1 auto or White Shimmer base variation.

Only white shimmers I’ve seen are the Contours insert.

The goal remains the same...muster up what little I can find cheap/afford and marvel at all of things I have from back when prices were dirt cheap.

seconded on the marveling. I keep track of prices paid and some of them are massive jumps. More interesting than everything.

I just sent in about 160 cards from my PC to COMC, mostly serial numbered stuff from various products, some autos, and relics, etc. I have also been selling some PSA 10 stuff on eBay. Overall, my goals are to downsize my collection and then focus on bigger cards. When I first started in the hobby around 2020, I collected a lot of low value stuff. I was in college at the time. These days, I have a career. Moving forward, I plan to have some bigger cards of key players. Preferably graded stuff.

To boldly go to shows i’ve never been, to explore new LCS’s beyond where the road ends, to seek dealers who’s boxes may hold the misfit card to some but the hole in my collection. Fear not of the quest but conquer the …………… what was this thread about ?
