Bleeding Cool says:
Revival is one smart comic. It’s billed as a “rural noir” but it’s so much more than that. It’s like Fargo meets They Came Back meets I don’t know, something else messed up, Jacob’s Ladder maybe, or Cemetery Man. That’s the kind of head trip this book hits you with. Revival is also a devious little read, in that it deftly bounces back and forth from the frightening, to the truly disturbing, to the creepy, to the weird, to the odd, and finally settles somewhere in the land of mind shattering terror with a cherry of familial drama to keep the whole thing grounded on top. Unleash the Fanboy says: An excellent opener, Revival #1 is one of the most interesting opening issues i’ve read in a while. Its got equal parts suspense, drama, religious undertones and possible alien involvement. It may sound like a conspiracist’s dream come true, but underneath it all, Revival #1 is a well written and executed piece of work.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first issue. I keep thinking about it since I read it earlier. Everything unfolds in such a smart way.

Yeah, I totally dug it. GREAT 1st issue. Image has been knocking it out of the park! Planetoid #2 was great as well.

Panels on Pages says:
If there’s one thing that faithful comic readers are used to seeing in the pages of their favorite books, it’s characters rising from the dead, either as zombies or via other, less gruesome forms. Hell, most characters in mainstream superhero books have died and come back to life at least once. Image Comics’ newest ongoing series Revival, written by Tim (Hack/Slash) Seeley and drawn by Mike (Battle Pug) Norton, manages to do something completely original with this type of plot and, based on the strength of its first issue, could very well be the next big creator-owned hit from Image.
