Nope, never done it. Too risky to hand over that kind of cash to a stranger in hopes that it's not a duplicate.

World Series tickets are ridiculously expensive even for face value. I've had season tickets for a couple years, and if the team is close making the post season they will send out an invoice for the post season tickets. Normally the full post season tickets are about 75% of the cost for the regular season.

I don't think they are that bad. I pay $27 a seat for bleacher tickets at Fenway. World Series are $125 a seat. 5 x the amount, but still 100% worth it to go see a WS game IMO. Even dugout box seats which are $350 regular season are "only" $850. Field box only went from $175 to $375.

I considered going to a Series game in SF the last few years, but couldn't justify the $400-$500 for standing room only.

Although I'm sure plenty are legit, I'd be too worried about a reprinted ticket to buy one from someone off the street for that kind of cash. I've sold tickets on StubHub, and wondered what stops people with questionable morals from selling the originals in person or on craigslist.

Don't buy off the street, you are just asking to get scammed. Sure a lot are probably legit but not worth the risk.

Just buy from StubHub, prices might not be great but you'll see a great selection and know it's a valid ticket.

That's cheaper than the price I saw a couple years ago in AZ. I paid $20 for ticket for the regular season and the world series tickets were $175 each...

in 2008 when the Phillies won, people were getting $800 for the half game ticket.
I went down with some friends and we tried to get tickets to no avail.
I think being outside the stadium with 5 million other people watching the game on tv was just as fun as being inside.

but I wouldn't trust anyone with that kind of money on the streets. try stubhub.

If you are going to buy from a scalper make sure it's an actual ticket, not something you would get off of stubhub.

I say go for it, you never know how long it will be until they will be in the series again, so if you want to go its worth it IMO. If the Cubs every make the series I can't imagine what ticket prices would be like for the games in Wrigley.

I'm still holding out hope that my father-in-law will swing some WS tickets for me. I went to all 3 of the LCS home games, but never had to buy my own ticket. A guy can dream right?!

My issue with StubHub is I'd like the physical tickets, and they only do printer tix these days on this type of notice.

TicketSupply.com game 3 - $295
Standing room is good. Caught foul ball there earlier this year.

You can get them but it will cost you. There will be several guys outside the park, but I believe they all work together. BEWARE...there were multiple reports of fake tickets in 2011. Even a police department scandal over it.

It's definitely a sweet collectable but I'd highly recommend you buy on StubHub for the protection. I know it's not the same but you're much better off buying a ticket stub on eBay later.

I think MLB sets prices for playoffs.
The reason why I say that is because when white sox were in playoffs in 2005, certain sections (bullpen bar and the patio area at The Cell) were closed and unoccupied. I was talking with security guy who said MLB controls everything in playoffs and those areas not offered.

I'm six hours away if I was a little closer I'd consider just going and watching the game around the stadium or something......I know in KC there's places to go buy tickets around the stadium . Like actual stores I'd wait as long as I could "close to gametime" and get tickets off them ......or know who will go out on the street and sell for them.
