A buyer did not wait for an invoice and paid for multiple items. I will need to refund them some of the shipping. Will this count as a defect against me if it is just a partial refund?

I can't quote a rule, but I can offer my personal experience.
I have returned postage overpayment several times over the past six months and have not been assessed a defect. I note the reason in the optional subject line. |

Refunding does not count as a defect unless a case is opened or the transaction is canceled for any reason other than buyer changed mind or item was shipped to wrong address.
However when a buyer overpays like that you are billed by Ebay based on the whole amount they paid for shipping and that fee is not instantly refunded and its a PITA to get Ebay to refund it. Last edited by shrevecity; 04-12-2015 at 08:38 PM. |
