next year's football class will be the the straw that breaks the camels back..... people will see the potential with this qb class to be infinite........ optic hobby at 2500 wouldn't surprise me; but i think 2021 will be the peak class and then it settles to some degree. the days of 100 dollar hobby boxes are probably gone forever but if enough classes don't produce a major "it" guy then sales of future wax will reflect that

it just takes time for people to realize they were wrong and lost money.... then they will move on or get smarter. We started down this path with the class of darnold, mayfield, and allen...... then this years burrow, herbert, tua class won't see any true longer term movement for a couple years (people will give them a few years just like they have the 18 class). We have big names year in and year out....... but since the junk wax era of the early 90s we have had manning, brady, brees, roethlisberger, rodgers, wilson, and mahomes................and frankly brees and roethlisberger sell soft for their level of play and wilson without any more accomplishments will be right with them....... so in 20-25 years we have manning/brady/rodgers/mahomes.

the odds of clusters of qb's being "worth" it just isn't realistic....... but to your point specifically; with wax prices right now and what they may open at next year I think you will have many many chances to make real money with it. it's just a very unique time with so many people interested...... we shall see what happens in the long term

Yeah if the 49ers take Mac Jones there is a real chance 5 QBs, 2 WRs, and a TE go in the top 10. Possibility of a generational talent at QB, WR, and TE in the same draft. If that happens 2021 NFL presale hobby prices are going to be unreal. I don't know what will make less sense. People that will be paying the big 3 5-15 times MSRP for every product or Panini still allotting the vast majority of thousands upon thousands of hobby cases of product to the big 3 at cost. I wish we could somehow get the info of how many cases the big 3 will get for every product and add it all up. Between 2021 football and 2021-22 basketball next season it could be over $10 billion profit Panini gives to the big 3.

I rip hobby but pay below Panini prices due to a cheaper LCS hookup. It's still expensive, but I budget well for cards and don't suffer any financial hardship from opening hobby boxes.

That stinks. Yet some players are in all levels.

Umm the chances are substantially better than zero. I’m not so sure he isn’t the best QB in the draft other than Lawrence. Kid has great size, strong arm, great leader, incredibly intelligent, played against top level competition, etc.

I know I know, but but but but he can’t run, give me a break

Give me Mac Jones all day over Fields. I’d much rather have a QB who is “boring to watch” but is winning games and throwing for 350+ every week, than one is exciting to watch and scrambles around and looks good throwing as many interceptions as touchdowns.

The 49ers didn’t move up to take Fields, they moved up to avoid getting stuck with him.

Mac over Fields for sure, both won't be starters in 3-5 years max. Historically speaking, both universities put out dud after dud after dud at QB especially the last 15 years

I agree that next year will be the high water mark for a long time.

I just don’t get why anyone is buying any 2020 football wax or singles other than the 3 rookie QB’s in hopes they blow up, not that I’d even do that. Just wait until next season and buy them for pennies on the dollar. Football cards are worthless long term except for QB’s. See my Derrick Henry, AJ Brown, Alvin Kamara collections, they’re worthless compared to even Sam Darnold!!!

Basketball at least has the chance for any rookie to blow up and be a star, still not as much as baseball where you never know who the next Mike Trout will be.

This has 100% become flippers selling to gamblers via breakers.

We’ll never return to the $150 Prizm box days because now the word is out that a quick easy buck can be made with no knowledge or experience. But I could definitely agree next season being absolutely insane with 5 1st round QB’s. Even if 4 out of 5 of them are going to be playing for awful teams.

I like how you threw Mahomes in with Brady, Manning, and Rodgers after 3 great seasons surrounded by the best offense in football. Talking about Mahomes in 20-25 years is not guaranteed after just 3 years!

People are trying to hype up Justin Jefferson as the greatest WR coming up as if Julio Jones, Deandre Hopkins don't sell for peanuts compared to QB's.

Or any RB. People went crazy on Josh Jacobs last year. His RPA's in National Treasures were what, over $500? Now they are under $200.

Just checked and Premier Level has 40 cards. I counted the Field level earlier, as it seems to be the most popular.

Brady stands alone. Mahomes deserves to be in a sentance with Manning and Rodgers for sure. Already has been to more super bowls than A-Rod.

And the best offense in the NFL? Did you see all the guys getting hit in the face during the super bowl... They have a very good offense, there are others with similar offensive talent across the NFL, Buccaneers, Saints, Dallas, Vikings, Steelers, Browns. Probably others that I'm leaving out.

Don't want to turn this into a Mahomes thread, but the narrative that the Chiefs are far and away the best offense in the NFL is just laughable. Watkins is considered an "average receiver" now that he is on the Ravens, but when he was with the Chiefs he was a "Top 10 Talent, blah blah blah".

Mahomes already showing willingness to restructure contract when team needs it. I would be a large sum of money we are still talking about him in 20 years

Panini put up an extensive gallery for this set and this looks like set of the year easily. I always look forward to Select but even more so this year because of the designs and non-photoshopped rookies/Brady's.

With four different levels, hopefully I can get a Herbert and Burrow at a reasonable price. All their RCs look sick.

Hope I won't be priced out of buying veteran silvers.

EDIT:
this looks to be the new Club level design that wasn't featured in the early previews

Surprised that Herberts are selling so "low." I thought they'd be a ton, but it looks like PSA 10s are around 2500.

So refreshing to see non-panini-instant base cards that don’t use college-photoshopped pics. Plates & Patches to this day is the only base card released that used an in-game photo for CeeDee Lamb. That ends soon!

It seems that way to me but the product write up was vague enough to allow for it.
