hard to say ANY product is overprinted when score/donruss/prestige is GONE from retail shelves as fast as the vendors can stock it.

Increased demand doesn't mean a product isn't overprinted.

Select retail sure feels weird. I’m hoping it brings at least some exclusive short print parallel and some numbered stuff too. If Select retail follows the Mosaic retail model rather than the Prizm retail model, I’m all for it.

Remind me, what were the differences between the two releases format wise?

Mosaic had SP Genesis cards in retail, along with a handful of numbered cards to go with the retail parallels. Prizm just had the retail parallels. I suppose if you counted the red/blues in Prizm retail, that’s certainly SSP, but more of needle in a haystack kind of thing.

Will Field Levels be in retail, and if so, at what rate

Man...this really starting to not be a fun hobby. Cant believe they're ruining Select now. Its been a slow erosion over last 2 years but I feel like this one really takes the air out of my sails.

Lol a 2020 Select Hobby box is gonna be over $1,000. This is a low to mid end product that shouldn't be anywhere near that price. Don't see how they are ruining it by having retail that a normal person can actually buy for a much lower price even on the secondary market.

Very disappointed this is in retail. I was planning on buying some FOTL I very much doubt it now.

Yeah I agree. Hopefully its fake. They really should keep something hobby only.

Large print runs destroy products.

Major retail distributor that has product solicitations months out (incl 2021 Prizm Draft FB already) says no Select retail on the calendar. Not saying that definitively proves there isn’t retail, but of all people safe to assume they’d know about it if legit. I’m going with the pic being a fake

Because I feel retail ruins everything. I dont need 8 billion garbage parallels. I want it to be rare. I'd rather have none than retail lol. And I want that retail market to collapse in the worst way. I have an overboard level of hate for it and retail flippers.

In hindsight I do feel like a sucker. Its kind of amazing there are people with nothing better to do than fake something like that.

Really it seems ridiculous they'd put it in retail. I was looking forward to this release. Select are my favorite cards.

Yeah retail really ruined 19-20 Prizm basketball. What's it selling for only about 20 times cost? You could of bought retail boxes on resale for 1.5-2 times cost. 18-19 worth even more than 19-20.

At this point if you're not rich or breaking who is buying hobby boxes? When 2020 Prizm football hobby was $1000+ a box you could buy tons of retail worth much more in the long run on the secondary market for the same price. If you could find it at MSRP even better. The distributors have ruined it. The only hobby worth buying now is when Topps has some usually for Monty Club members. There is not a single product that is hobby and retail where in the long run you will make more percentage wise holding the hobby versus retail. This is obviously because the distributors have jacked up the price so high no meat whatsoever left on the bone.

If 20-21 Prizm basketball hobby is $3,000 a box preorder the big 3 will be profiting around $35,000 a case. That's $35k profit on a case that each one of them will at a minimum be getting a few hundred of. Insanity.

I hope not. If they are I hope they are as rare as autos usually are.

Since I can't find anything in retail anyway, I don't mind if Select is in retail stores.

I suppose if it was a bigger print run opposed to just being hobby, singles prices on eBay would be a bit cheaper than usual. That's all I care about.

I used to love buying singles on the cheap, that's how I collected. But even that is hard now.

I literally just buy silvers of veterans out of Prizm, Mosaic, Optic and Select. Gone are the fun days of collecting Topps, Finest, Chrome and Prime. Everything was so much simpler then.

That picture is legit I can 100% confirm. Megas will be $44.98 with MJH and Hangers will be $17.98. Not sure of how many cards and all in each, but this picture is 100% legit.

Looked at the Checklist this morning. How is Joe Flacco included in this in a Broncos uniform? The season is complete when this product comes out and he was not on the team all season. He wasn't even starting the second half of last season. Good grief! I guess I should be happy, perhaps Panini will throw some Eddie Royal cards into new products in the coming years, because, why not?!?!

It’s fishy and to be honest the thing looks suspect so I’m not convinced in anyone’s anonymous source. Not that it matters we will know for sure before too long.

Edit: Also I want to point out that the marketing picture used is from last year. Maybe they reused it bc the new one isn’t out but I’m skeptical of the whole thing, particularly how this was disclosed on FB.

No, I can assure you, this is in all the MJH boxes that contain sports cards across the country. I have seen it live and in person myself and I am telling you 100% that it is not a fake.

I attempted to attach a picture I took myself.

Thanks for the info. Disappointing if true.
