Yordan Alvarez cycle auto is sold out.

I was probably 5-10 minutes too late. At $100 for /99 or better, definitely reasonable compared to other issues recently.

Edit: And not a single HOF Induction auto? Interesting. Also, I guess they couldn't get Helton's rights because he's got no card.

I grabbed the Yordan luckily. I was also surprised no autos on the HOFers. Disappointed but I guess good for my wallet. Really bummed no Todd Helton card at all since he was the one I was most excited to get.

Topps has a licensing contract with the MLBPAA (alumni association), so if Helton is a member they should've been able to print a card of him.

That makes me believe he's not an MLBPAA member AND that Topps couldn't reach an agreement to license his likeness from him.

anyone order stuff from topps and didn't even remember buying? i guess i bought rookie cup outman in December and didn't even remember doing it lol.

I know he was in some 2023 (and earlier) product but nothing so far in 2024. Wonder if they just had an agreement with him direct that ended last year?

A clean topside isn't as bad as the smooth underside pieces, though. One of those for $130+ feels like a slap in the face.

They did do a baseball relic for Blanco's no hitter at the start of the year. They were only numbered /25 and lower so very limited inventory.

Maybe. I would take either a base relic or ball relic. Padres did have 6 hits and 3 runs, so the base could show some use.

Is the RC logo missing on today’s Tyler Phillips card because Realmuto is also on the card? If so that’s pretty dumb considering they could have used a solo image.

They have added the Call-Up logo. The card had neither yesterday. I thought he was brought up before the cut-off but was mistaken.

It's sold out now.
But "career high 27 stolen base" isn't all that impressive and $270 for a base relic ain't cheap either (though much more affordable than his recent $500 base relics).

Having said that, I was happily surprised to see the relic go on sale, as I attended the game last night at Minute Maid Park.
I bought one without any regret.

While grossly overpriced, you bought it for a personal connection you have with the card/relic/event/milestone. No reasonable collector would you fault you for that. Glad you could snag one.

Yeah for me Topps is just trying to print money at this point. IMO Topps now cards should be only for RC's and Historical milestones such as 500 hr's or 3,000 K's not Hotdogs and Bees. The fact they raised the priced this year for base garbage isn't helping either.

I can see their first licensed NFL card now..... Kicker misses 3 Field Goals in devastating loss. $9.99
