Default My target sucks

So I go to target today and they finally have Bowman packs. I just wanted some of the rookies from this year...not expecting anything great. So I open the first pack and there’s a panini elite Dallas Keuchel card in there? What the heck!!!! I’m pretty sure they have been searched. Is it possible to reseal packs in the store? They looked untampered with. Any advice would be helpful
Thanks

Yep, it definitely happens. Scammers buy the pack, replace the cards with duds, and reseal and return it.

Fortunately, I took the packs back in and they gave me my money back. Just won’t buy packs anymore

I know some Walmart's have a no return policy on cards. It really should be across the board though.

Man, I thought you were in Northern California. Same thing happened to me at my target. Bought a blaster and opened the box as soon as I stepped outside. All packs had been opened then placed back in the box I didn't even look to see what cards were in it. Worst part is 10 minutes earlier I went to Walmart and some POS opened a rack pack and resealed that too. Apparently there is a loser amuck.

Some people SUCK!!!

There is someone around hear that likes to open the Prizm Packs of football too. Looks like he cuts the packs with a razor blade...... Shameless. It get even worse if you ever make it down south towards Elk Grove. I avoid the south side of town like the plague too.

Yup. That was the one. SMH. I let the manager know she may want ot remove all the boxes because they were probably all resealed. Apparently she didn't listen.

Someone on my FB group posted earlier this morning that the local Target was restocked with Bowman. Went there during lunch. The card aisle was picked CLEAN

Bought a Blaster Box Of Basketball Optic from Walmart a couple weeks ago. It was sealed. Luckily I opened it in the car and realized all packs were opened and each only had two cards. Guess the took out the rookies and inserts from each pack. Went right in and explained I had just bought it and got my money back. Should’ve realized the wrapping didn’t have Panini all over it. People are so desperate they really will go through and reseal these things and scam the store and other customers.

Had the same thing happen to me in Atlanta recently with Heritage hanger boxes. They were resealed and the cellophane inside packages were taped. The outside of the boxes were marked too with a black T. Was pretty disappointed and disgusted by the whole ordeal

There is a local pack searcher here in North Hollywood, CA that I've ran into a few times. He's always fingering up the packs from the gravity feed. Also saw him feeling up the hangers for jersey cards. Thankfully he hasn't resorted to opening and resealing yet. Although a few days ago I saw a dad and kid looking at Optic packs and all of them were completely open in the hanger. Sucks that someone is willing to sit there and open the packs in the aisle and no one says anything to the person. And now some little kid that just wants to open some cards isn't able to do so because someone has tampered with every pack in the box.

Happened to me at the city target in Westwood. My 8 yr old and I saw a bunch of blasters. He decided on those instead of a lego set.
All had been opened and “resealed” with junk base cards.
He was devastated.
They did give us a full refund and he got some legos... but pretty lame thing to do. Only hope people that do that get bad card karma going forward.

Also happened when I ordered some optic football blasters from blowout. I got a case in big baller promo. About half had been opened and resealed with base cards. Blowout was pretty great about the return. Giving me an extra box and shipping out free right away.
Just can’t wrap my head around opening a pack, taking out the cards, putting junk in the pack and resealing.
Sad.

Stinks for sure. Happened to me as well. Been searching for Bowman for weeks now. Finally found 2 blasters at a Walmart in Douglasville, GA. This were sealed and looked legit. They weren't.

Walmart gave me a refund at least. I'd say this has happened to me 3-4 times now over the last couple of years.

Local target was dry and the there was 10 blasters. They looked suspicious on the outside cellophane so decided not to buy. Saw it with prism basketball blasters also. What is wrong with people?

So how do you really guard against this? If the cello wrap around the box is unbroken/untaped, it should be good, right?

I'd hate to think you'd have to open right there in the store. My Walmart is pretty tough on returns in general...I can imagine if I tried to bring in a box I bought the day before and claim it was tampered with, they would tell me to GTFO.

Basically the only thing that can be done is to have the card aisle be in an area where a checkout worker can monitor the area for someone opening packs. And beyond that, not allowing returns on cards. Eliminating the ability to return the packs/hangers/blasters/etc that will deter these tools from buying the stuff and returning it with junk inside.

this is bad karma. how do they even think they will get good cards by pulling this nonsense. i actually wish i catch someone in the act doing this. i would shame them badly.
