If they do get a deal done for the NBA license and we get Topps Chrome back for Wembanyama’s rookie year, it would be pretty huge.

People would be back lining up at Target and Walmart to get every blaster they possibly could.

Would love to see some sort of Topps Archives style basketball set using vintage Topps basketball designs.....71-72, 72-73, and 77-78 are my three favorites.

71-72 was done in 2000-01 NBA Heritage

The real question is how? Are they buying Panini? Buying out the license from Panini? Or is this going to be some sort of unlicensed basketball release?

If they have the NBA Players Association agreement to use players they could just do what Panini has been doing with NT/Flawless Baseball until they buy Panini or take over the licence.

I'd guess unlicensed junk. Panini would be foolish to sell the rights early with Wembum coming.
