Of course, as of the industry conference earlier this year, this was supposed to be an April product and we were supposed to be getting Sapphire RotJ today, so maybe not such a cool surprise after all.

Was ROTJ Sapphire confirmed? Even though it's the 40th annivesary, seems weird they would skip ESB for their next Sapphire set.

It's what people who were at the Industry Conference said they were told. I wasn't there.

No checklist makes this hard to pull the trigger on.

Topps has struggled so hard to add value to any of there dozens of products over last 5-6-7 years

Manufactured patches awful autos ..

Not sure what the answer is?

There will be so many new shows and characters next 5-10 years. Will topps start to care ? And develop products with value

Or just make the same crap ?

Default 2023 Topps Star Wars chrome

Going to pass at this price tag. Last thing I want is another Bartender or Security Officer #1 auto and one parallel base #/299.

They’re great at getting the 3 second actor signatures.

Weird that this is just listed as "Star Wars Chrome."

Almost comes across like they're going for a flagship product of some sort unless they forgot to include the rest of the title.

Checklist is up, looks pretty solid all things considered, not as many "Bartender" style characters for autos.

Yeah, definitely an improvement on Signature Series, for instance - though to be fair, I'm coming at this as basically a fan of (almost) all the live action stuff and nothing else. If I were a huge fan of the cartoons, I might feel differently. Different products for different fans, and all that.

Some head-scratchers in their design choices though. Like a triple auto of Han Solo, Kylo Ren, and... Snoke? Really? They're burning Carrie Fisher auto stickers (which they'll run out of eventually) on multiple cards in this set, but they decide to do Han, Kylo and Snoke? Or a dual auto of Rey and "that random alien who gave her a necklace in her fifteen seconds of screen time" - really?

wasn't solicited through distribution or direct so for the time being that's a fair assumption

This is the Fanatics way.

Going forward expect them to release everything online themselves at top dollar first. Whatever doesn't sell will eventually be passed on to the online sellers.

If you don't want to pay top dollar on every new release, don't jump on their online sales. Wait it out until they have to dump at lower prices. The more Topps sells out early, the more we will continue to see higher box costs and limited availability.

I'm following my own advice here and NOT buying right now. If it sells out, oh well, prices were too high anyways. If not, I'll get it much cheaper down the road.

This post is 100 percent spot on. The problem is this is not the product to target. But 95 percent of all their other stuff certainly is.
