Who are top 5 hobby relevant guys right now?

I was listening to a discussion about this on a podcast and they listed top 5 right now as:

1. Ohtani
2. Acuna
3.Judge
4. Trout

OK, that's only 4 but I'm repeating some other hobby people's opinion. But their main point was that Trout is falling in hobby relevance. To me I do think Ohtani and Acuna are clear 1 and 2 right now. I guess J Rod would maybe be 5th? Corbin Carrol should be climbing up but I have a hard time putting any rookie as top overall hobby guy

Is this list specifically for active players? Because Mantle could easily be in the Top 5 with those four.

Solid point. Doesn’t even say “players” just “guys”. Also could include Michael Rubin or any number of high ranking Topps or Fanatics product “guys”.

I’d just add JRod to your list. Boring answer, I know, but hard to argue with it.

Trout is hard to take off the list, even though I personally would go with Carroll over him.

Interesting. I think Henderson is more hobby relevant then Holiday right now but I don't really collect prospects so I could be wrong

I agree but I'd put Gunnar Henderson at 5, his stuff exploded when Topps Chrome released.

So… lots of pre-call-up excitement… I guess speed + power combo was the hope??? But high K% and poor contact kind of ruined it, this year?

He's 6'5", plays SS, has power and speed. He's the type the maybe can punch above his weight in the hobby (literally, since he is a toothpick), but he was even over priced a little as a prospect. Then he came out on fire and his price tripled. Since then he's cooled off and may even be down for the year. He's going to have to step up his game quite a bit to maintain his price level.

He would have been on this list about 4-6 months ago - shouldn’t be now ….

I for one am not a huge Elly believer, I think he will make a couple of all star games If he hits his ceiling and will be a good major league player. I was just answering the question about who was a top 5 hobby relevant player right now.
