They need to fold a few of these ultra-premium products together to get something that can actually gain some traction in the hobby. These sets all need to have distinct reasons for existing. I guess the amount of hits changes, but I don't see any real difference in this, 5-Star, Museum, and several others. Even though they are all very limited, the fact they make so many premium sets floods the market with these style of cards keeping value low.

I think it's because they are contractually required to produce a high number of releases each year. But you're right -- having products be as distinct design-wise as possible form each other would help market them.

The excessive overproduction is a good thing for singles buyers given the depressed values. Bad for people who like wax.

Exactly this. The designs come out feeling like Adobe Stock templates they put baseball players on. Put the energy in to one unified high-end product and let the design and limited run actually give it value.

Will be overpriced, and horrible value, but there are some cool cards that come out of this. Would love to get ahold of that Acuna logo for my sons pc. DROOLING!

Considering it's almost the end of January, maybe they should concentrate on 2024 products. Is Topps always going to be behind every year now?

Sure, for that matter, why don’t they create some 2034 cards now using AI to predict stats? Or create more 2011 cards??

I’ve always loved DIamond Icons, especially the purple ones, but when I first purchased these they were $1250/box. They are now on the order of $2999.99 or even high and the content hasn’t improved. I mean, the only difference I can see is the addition of a poorer design and some cut autos that frankly don’t do much for me as they aren’t guaranteed and should have been left out of the product altogether. Does the addition of a cut Babe Ruth at listed odds add much value? My argued would be a resounding no!..singles only knowing that resale here isn’t great either. It’s extremely easy to purchase most of them for $50 or less.

Because the MLBPA requires so many releases every year, and that number only goes up.

Man. The font on that Julio looks ugly. Doesn’t fit the product.

Well it’s now on blowouts calendar for 1/31 no hyper link though. It’s a breaker only product so I guess it doesn’t matter. No one buys this as a personal break outside of a few high rollers.

Anyone know what the pre-sell price on this stuff was? Seems breakers are pulling in about 6.5-7k on it based on team prices?

Here is a handy sortable checklist https://cardboardglory.com/2023-topp...t-information/

This one doesn't make sense to me since the massive price increase. $300-400 per card is just far too high.

On the one hand, I would say these are very limited and some of the cards (spikes and such) are cool concepts....on the other hand , it seems as though we have a lot of high end offerings these days with "limited" concepts? no?

Yes, most of these high-end products feature a lot of overlap. And while cards that feature different materials may look cool, the prices for them are nonsense. Alonso’s game used and signed cleats worn for HRs 40/41 and RBI 100 this year sold for just $1600 in October.

The price is insane, nearly impossible to get close to getting your money back on a box in most cases.

There is no shame from

Topps
Fanatics
Blowout
Dave adams
Breakers
Etc

People know cost is 1700 dollars a box or 6800 a case .. 4 box case ?

The money that the hand selected dist and breakers are making is crazy

We are being ripped off so bad. But that moronic group of gamblers just does not care and they will not stop. Which keeps the absurd cycle going

Gambling is now running this hobby. It’s Fraking gross

Enjoy your day
