Did I get a steal on this Odell?

I know these were $400-500+ for just the raw versions since there are 25 or less of these made...only 7 graded at Beckett and 3 at PSA....which means there are maybe 5-6 that have been graded total (crossovers, crack and resubmits, etc.)

I had a snipe in place at a MUCH higher price....but was shocked 1. when i won, and 2. that it finished so low...especially considering highly shilled PWCC auctions. So did this card dive or did I just get lucky?

Yeah the auto sucks hard, but then again a lot of his autos suck...and that is clearly why it is in a PSA holder than a BGS holder. I wonder if PWCC even reads the crap they write in their auction descriptions....

I dunno, but that auto scares me. I don't think I would have paid that much. Unfortunately it's so hard to find decent on card autos of Odell Beckham these days.

Don't mean to hijack the thread...but there is some great insight here. I have the 2014 Odell Finest Refractor Auto /35. It was a redemption...so it came packaged with the Topps sticker over the toploader, etc. I was going to send it to BGS but the auto looks like a 9 to me. I may just leave it in the sealed toploader and sell it as is. Anyone think that's the right approach...or is my thinking flawed on this one? Any advice would be appreciated!

Odell is pretty much the only person I make an exception for. And since only a dozen or so of this card has been pulled, and everyone has had an atrocious auto, it's safe to say the auto is going to be really bad on all of them. He was probably done signing and they said, "oh, we've got 25 more for you to sign" and he did them all at break neck speed.

Come to think of it, the "fast auto" look is growing on me.

That was an absolute steal and I was watching that auction, I didn't have the funds right now to bid on it though.

The problem was the listing and there was no reference to variation 2 or that it is an SSP. Nice win, with a good listing you have a good chance to double your money easy.

Great Deal. I pulled one at release and think I got $550 raw? Somewhere in that ball park I believe.

As for the auto, I wouldn't worry about it since its graded. Anyone with any knowledge of that particular card would understand his auto wasn't great on the contenders he signed.

Yeah, sometimes PWCC makes little mistakes like this that can lead to big deals. Part of being a boilerplate company I guess. The card didn't even show up in my search for it the first time.

Thanks, my snipe was over $600...and I'm sure it wouldn't have won had Variation II been in the title...so I'm very happy at $350. Even the worst auto isn't going to cut this card in half value-wise.

Almost all of his autos are smudged or streaky somehow so it's nbd. Very nice pickup. Great price, I'd say you scored.

Don't ask me how it got a 10 Auto lol i figured it looks like it should be a 9 but I assume they were lenient since most of his autos were worse than this so mine is a 9.5/10. I figure I may have the only 1 that is 9.5/10.
