Explain Young Guns at a high level for stars vs younger prospects

If even half of the people who complained about Panarin/Barkov/Rantanen/etc. being “undervalued”, they probably wouldn’t be undervalued anymore. Some players just don’t have large collector bases.

I will be the first to say I don't consider any of this as an investment. Maybe that puts me a tier above the average hobby dummy. But I'll still own the dummy part. If I had any sense I wouldn't be buying pictures of men for hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

Same, it's just a hobby. The 2020-2021 insanity is not the norm. The norm is long term stagnation or depreciation for all but the most coveted cards of the tippy top players. Bottom line: it's a hobby where at least the money I spend can be partially recouped if absolutely necessary. Better than other hobbies in that respect.
