Nolan is my all-time favorite. However, if I'm being objective, there are at least a handful of more talented pitchers in the last 50 years, although he was kind of the mold for many of them.
No matter the dominance, it took him 15 years to learn to locate consistently. Sure, the pure power was awesome but it alone, in my opinion, doesn't make up a totality of talent argument.
I do believe he eventually developed his full potential, hence the 5th-7th no-hitters.
