Going back that far, yes. But then I wouldn’t say the same if going back to the Covid season, especially since he’s been very good but not great the past couple seasons. And he appeared to be one of the pitchers who lost a little edge when the league started cracking down on sticky fingers.

Cole does have health on his side—which is very important, and he’s off to a stellar start to this season.

Who has been better in the last 5 years cumulatively? I’m no Cole or Yankees fan but when you factor in health and numbers he seems the clear choice.
