Four-seam fastball pitches -- 2023 season (94.2 MPH league average):
91-93 MPH: .383 wOBA; 5.3% HR% (565 HR / 10,675 BIP) 94 MPH: .345 wOBA: 3.7% HR% (30 HR / 819 BIP) 95-97 MPH: .324 wOBA; 3.8% HR% (509 HR /13,280 BIP) Conclusion: Above average velocity four-seam fastballs are more effective at getting outs and preventing home runs -- duh.
