Didn’t have worth any value for them to sign but I got to bring my 3yo and have him hand a ball to the players so totally worth it!
Very cool! Congrats to you as well man!

Can't seem to figure out how to upload pics
It always makes me laugh when people can make a blanket statement like this "deGrom is such a super nice and humble guy." from like 30 seconds they spent with the guy at a paid (by the sponsor) public signing.

You can tell a lot sometimes from these short interactions. Some guys are total jerks even though they’re paid to be there.

Mark hammill (Star Wars) once said on a podcast that a ten second interaction for him will be forgotten. BUT, to the person he meets, they’ll remember it for a lifetime. So why should he be a jerk to people? It’s better for everyone this way.

But I would have never thought that Kroger would sponsor something like this. Idk about Heaney, but a few hours of Jacob’s time is worth a lot of money. Maybe their uptick in grocery sales from the event covered the cost

This was the Texas Rangers 2023 Winter Caravan, which always features several stops around the DFW Metroplex and has player appearances. Kroger is the official sponsor this year, and the appearances were at Kroger stores. They used to be at Academy stores in years past.

I have no idea if this is a real injury or not, but its a sign that its going to be more of the same with this guy.

Huge deGrom fan and supercollector here. Bittersweet to read this, there has been nothing as fun and exciting as a Jake start over the past 5 years. His stuff is absolutely insane and I'm jealous you get to watch him for the next few years. The NY media hit pieces on him are infuriating as are Mets fans kicking him on his way out the door acting like he isn't the greatest pitcher they've ever seen (he is). I've watched damn near every inning he's thrown since 2018 and don't have the goldfish memories of other Mets fans. His injuries the past two years were fluky and non-chronic and today is much ado about nothing. He'll be fine and I'm positive he'll win a Cy Young this year. Enjoy it.

I agree. I was going to go after church, about 12, since the signing started at 1. But decided not to when I saw how long the wait was. And I've seen probably 20 signed DeGrom items on Facebook since. So for a lot of people it wasn't about meeting, it was about getting something they can sell.
