How late do you think Topps determined the price?

Bob posted the $199 price guess about 25 minutes ago. Maybe they were thinking $200 and then said "if these guys are gonna buy for $200 let's try to squeeze another $25 out."

225? Lol. I was planning on buying a couple boxes for a christmas rip but I'll just drop the cash on singles.

Same as 2023 (14.5k ish) but there's 2 more packs per box in 2023 (20 vs 18)

I'd guess price is determined at the absolute last day or two prior to release.

Within 10 minutes they killed this product entirely.

Step 1: Prior to drop, eh these look ok! Build up some demand.

I love it when people compare the price of one overpriced thing to another overpriced thing and use it as justification as to why buying the overpriced thing is a good idea.

It's the same reason people buy FOTL product so high. They think....well hobby is at X price so FOTL at the same price is a great deal. Umm no...they're both a bad deal.

I got mine as I like the set, but do think that a large part of it was to get me to feel like I'm not wasting the Montgomery Club membership. Awful logic that will keep Topps gouging me, but I'll be happy enough with the cards once they get here.

The problem for Finest Flashbacks is that while the original 1993 design was iconic, the rest of the Finest designs of the 90's were utterly ordinary.

I would much rather see them do a retired players edition using the 1993 design, as opposed to just continuing through the 90's.

Or do a Gold Label Flashback product featuring the 99/00/01 Gold Label designs, which are much better designs than post-1993 Finest anyway.

With the prices of singles cratering, I will be passing on this overpriced garbage. I might pick it up in a couple months for under 200........
