I see alot of Stadium Club First Day issue in this thread.

I remember owning a Peja rc from 98/99. Numbered to 200 I believe. But the "serial" number on the back wasn't a true stamp like you're used to seeing. It was so faint that it could only be seen under perfect lighting. Anyone seen that on tsc first day issues?

Just read the entire thread. I sadly don't have a single one of these cards for any of you.

I would only point out that topps MVP promotion is one of the ones that comes up most often. That set is a rough go.

Good thread idea op.

I've owned several of these. Kinda like the 1/1's out of gold label. The stamp is more of an impression than a stamp.

I collect John Wall and haven't seen the following cards:

15/16: Absolute 1/1
15/16: Prizm base, All Stars, and All NBA 1/1
15/16: Donruss Scoring Kings 1/1, Passing Kings /87, Gold /10, 1/1. Very surprised the /87 and Gold/10 hasn't popped up somewhere. Also would love to have the Black 1/1 Dominator Signature card.

16/17: Revolution Galactic: Base, By the Numbers, Star Gazing
16/17: Prizm 5th Anniversary
16/17: Prizm Mosaic: /25 Camo and 1/1
16/17: Absolute Gold/10 and 1/1
16/17: Donruss OPTIC PREVIEW. I'm missing many Donruss cards but I dont think much was busted compared to 14/15 and 15/16. I really want the Optic Preview card.
16/17: Donruss Optic: Elite Series /5 Green, Gold Vinyl: All Stars, Dimes, Base, Elite Series, Dominator Signature.

I also need a Klay Thompson #39 and Avery Bradley #65 15/16 Revolution Angular to finish off my master set.

I've had the frustration lately of finding some of the cards I want but the sellers being out of their mind on pricing.

I try to collect 2015 National Treasures Multisport Gators players. Should be easy to find I'd think given its a somewhat obscure set to collect and most the cards are /99 but when they do pop up it is often overpriced.

Point in case, Dante Fowler /99 auto pops up. Seller wants 50 for it. The last one sold for 4.25. Every other flame out player is around 5 bucks for an auto in the set. I message the guy and show him the comps and offer 10 for good measure. Turns it down. Auto sets up for a few weeks and ends with no bites. Relists at 50. SMH

Man, I hope you got something great in return. I don't understand why more of these don't pop up more often, for any player. Not only for sale, but just in general. Never see them on the boards or Instagram or anything. I think it was doubleXthebeast that has the Grant Hill and then there was another member that like found a Michael Jordan in his old collection at his parents house or something crazy like that. Those are the only 2 I think I've ever seen without doing a Google search. Currently two listed on eBay right now, an Iverson and a Duncan. I want the Penny... badly.

Edit: for people that don't want to go a page back lol, talking 98-99 UD Choice Starquest Gold /100

lol exactly...I have two more boxes of 99-00 Stadium Club Chrome heading my way, mainly because I'm looking for my Mitch Richmond First Day Issue Refractor /25. Last time I broke it I pulled the Webber from that set and sold it to mgoblue who'd be hunting for it forever too, so it kinda worked out? Webber paid for 2 boxes anyway lol

Haha I pulled the Bibby out of a 3-box lot once as well so if I pull a 3rd I'll be WAY ahead of the game. I probably will and it'll be a major bum, like Theo Ratliff or something.

Great thread, OP! I've got some cards on my list that absolutely leave me baffled as to why I can't find them. But perhaps the ones I want the most are all 90s cards. Sorry, but I've got 10 of them.

97-98 Ultra Platinum Medallion #212 /100. I have 2 copies of the #108 platinum card, but have only ever seen 1 worthpoint photo of the #212.

98-99 TSC First Day Issue /200. Impossible.

98-99 TSC One of a Kind /150. Also impossible.

99-00 Topps MVP Promotion. I have 00-01 and 01-02, but can't even get a sniff of the 99-00 card.

The rest of these are lower numbered, but I've never even seen a picture of any of them, sans the Team Finest Refractors.

99-00 Flair Legacy Showcase /20
99-00 Fleer Supreme Court Collection /20
99-00 Finest Team Finest Red Refractors /50. One on eBay but they want over $200. Nope.
99-00 Finest Team Finest Gold Refractors /25
99-00 Gold Label Class 2 Red /50
99-00 Gold Label Class 3 Red /25

Jesus this is terrifying, it reads almost precisely like a "where are all these Mitch Richmonds??" post from me. And I think you've been supercollecting Webber longer than I've been collecting Mitch which makes it all the more worrisome

I know man! It sucks. The 99-00 FDIR /25 would've been on the list too, but you checked that one off for me

The First Day Issue and One of a Kind sets are a continual pain for me also. Those things seem to be next to impossible to find.

Weird, I think I picked up all these cards for harp from 97-98 and 98-99 within 6 months of my return to collecting. In fact I have duplicates of them all, and 4 copies of each of the one of a kind sets. He wasn't in the chrome release.

This is one of the things about this hobby that fascinates me the most... the cards we acquire early for our PCs that we don't appreciate how rare they really are becuase , at least for me, once it's off the checklist it's largely out of mind unless it's a truly iconic card

I have the 97-98 one of Mitch and have seen at least 2-3 more copies floating around, it's the 98-99 and 99-00 variations that seem tougher to find. In particular, at least I've noticed, the 98-99 Stadium Club "TRAN" subset, or NBA Transactions where a player went to a new team, seem tough to find to the point that I wonder if they actually made them (think Pippen to the Rockets, Mitch to the Wizards, etc.). I'm sure they are out there, I just can't seem to track one down

There are only 2 for me... really, these are head scratchers:

1. 2000-01 Topps Chrome Combos refractor
Despite it being a non numbered set, I've been trying to find the Garett -Duncan Flash Fundamental Refractor for 3 years now and they haven't popped up even once. The other cards in the set (refractor version) is also tough to find!!! These cards just shouldn't be.

2. 14-15 Kevin Durant Hoops Shining Stars artist Proof /99
Aside from KD, Steph Curry also was a tough one to track down which is why when 1 popped up a few months ago, I had to snag it at the BIN price asap. Lebron is another tough cookie

Dude, you nailed it with #1!! I've still never seen another copy of the Webber/JWill besides the one I own. And I didn't even find it. Lt. Labia (Nick) was doing his usual probing after making a deal with a guy on eBay and turned up with it and got it to me. I tell him all the time how it's one of my favorite cards in my pc, but I think he thinks I'm just giving him high praise because he found it. I'm not. The card is AWESOME.

But like you already know, not numbered and only 1:300, these cards should be easily found.

Aww shucks man....it was actually my second time I'd gotten one, once I found one in a dollar box at a show. Lol probing but yeah I guess that's what you'd call it

I absolutely hate the 03-04 Matrix /5 parallels. I pulled a Dajuan Wagner back in 04 and sat on it for about a year before discovering it was /5. Only a very slight color differentiation. I sold it to the Wagner collector on here. But very easy to not notice yoy have a parallel.

There is also a 03-04 Topps Matrix /5 parallel out there. Randy on here has the Michael Finley /5.....had no clue those existed.

As for the Lampe Exquisite /6......that will be an insanely hard item to find obviously. I imagine if there has been any listed, they are sitting in Jim's collection in Puerto Rico. I have only ever seen x3 of the Pavlovic /11 from that set, and I own 2 of them!

So, after reading this thread for a while, I think it would be a good idea to create a sticky thread at the top (similar to the Player Collectors one) for White Whales.

My biggest question is: How would the info be sorted? I'll say Year/Set/Player/Card/Blowout ID would be the preferred option. I can help out with the Panini exclusive era (2010 'til now). Who's on board?

Got back into the game a couple years ago and I collect Kobe, so I haven't been chasing as long as others. These have been the toughest to track down.

1.) '97-98 Hoops High Voltage 500 - For having a count of 500, these never pop up. The only one I can recall was a Raw Card Review 8 a couple years ago with a BIN of around $500. No auctions.

2.) '98-99 Hoops Slam Bams - I only remember a BGS 8.5 being up on eBay for a while, which no one ever hit. No auctions.

3.) '99-00 Hoops Pure Players 100% - Only one I can recall is the Probstein listing with the ridiculous BIN.

4.) '08-09 Topps Chrome Gold Refractor - I managed to get my hands on a Red one, so I'm attempting to get them all besides the Super. Haven't seen one of these up yet.

5.) '97-98 Stadium Club Members Only cards, the base, Hoops Screams and Royal Court.
