Giannis has been playing great lately. No more Mr. Nice Guy.... he wants to let the league know that he is the MVP. I watched a few highlight videos the past couple days and it's just not fair to the rest of the league. Giannis can do whatever he wants... whenever he wants and no one can stop him.

Ill be watching and see a play.... and think to myself... no way he scores. One step later... glides through the air 6 feet and finger roll layup 5 inches from the basket. All I can do is shake my head.

Giannis also not a ball hog who needs to shoot 40-50 times a game to have his numbers like some other MVP candiates are doing.

lol

I'm sure you are referring to Harden.

Harden scores 36.5 ppg on 24.1 shots.

Giannis scores 27 ppg on 17.2 shots.

That's an average points per shot of 1.51 for Harden and 1.56 for Giannis.

Not a big difference, especially when you consider that Harden dishes out 2 more assists per game.

Look, i'm very on the fence on who's MVP this year... im going to let it play out before i make up my mind, but the old 'ball hog' argument is a weak one.

Make a case based on team record, defense, impact on teammates, whatever.... but Harden is having a historic scoring year and getting great production out of his high shot totals.

I'm pretty sure you can consider MJ quite the ball hog in his day, but I think he deserved a few of those MVP's he earned.

Efficiency is one thing, but if you are referring to guys like Westbrook and Harden, at least they don't shy away from the high volume of minutes and taking of big shots. Players are good or great in different ways.

and today.... add a 0 and multiply by 2...and I'm still not sure you could get those 10 cards. Raw... Graded...not a chance.

EDIT:

I did a search and found some raw.... without finding a Silver, Orange or Purple DC... the price for the other 7 Raw - $2850

Guessing it would be $6000-6500 today... Raw. But I could be way off. Probably high

Funny part is that there’s a guy who apparently pmd on the deal then backed out because he mistook the orange for a gold.

Whoops.

Just a couple months ago you could get a 9.5 for $1500. Gotta think that's a new high.

Good point.

I wasn't sure if Kawhi or Kyrie hit it after winning a championship. But $1,650 for a 9/Raw is pretty rare.

And the scary thing... I don't think it's done

If I know one thing about basketball, it's that prices can get outta control quick.

Remember when Steph Curry base Topps were selling from $500+?

The 2013 silver print run is well under 500. Probably in the 250-350 range.

Only 232 graded copies, of which I would think at least 20% have been crossed over or resubbed. Clearly not enough out there to satisfy the demand. The card has room to grow, but he needs some major awards and titles.
