That happened last year. There was a tiny allocation on topps.com and that was it.

I thought the release was simultaneous last year, or the MLB store drop came later. All the hype seemed to start right at the Topps.com drop, but maybe I am misremembering.

ETA: the news of Logofractor was broken first by reference to it in the MVP buyback promo, but no one knew the details until the Topps.com drop. At least that's what I remember.

it sat on topps.com at launch. people didn't know what it was. I bought all mine through MLB store after ,com already sold out.

This is correct. MLBNYC announced boxes on Twitter on 9/28 the same day that I also purchased boxes from Topps online.
