Update on the situation
Joe from Goldin emailed me about the situation on Friday. We exchanged emails all weekend and he called me today. He apologized for the situation and offered to fully refund the auction price plus the cost of grading from PSA. He also told me to keep the 2 cards that were graded for the trouble. I am happy with the outcome. I thought they handled this very well. Back in March I won a 5 card Brady rookie lot. I paid a decent price as they looked to be in mint condition. Got them and and sent to PSA for grading. Just received the order back today. To say disappointed is an understatement. 3 of the 5 came back N4. So I am out the price of the cards + grading fees. I sent Goldin an email to see if they would do a refund and they have not responded. Needless to say I won't be buying anything from them again.

That's a bummer. The way the hobby has evolved (trimmers, grading, big $$$ etc.) I would be SO cautious about buying raw Bradys, even from a Goldin or whoever. To be clear, I feel your pain because it was, on paper, probably a smart move... but it feels like anything rookie year for him that can be successfully graded, probably is.

Just doesn't appeal to me, a person sitting close to 8,000 positive feedbacks with 99% from sales. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk |

I would agree, but the majority of those folks who don't grade will likely be selling on their own and not via consignment.

Brady 2000s became the the target of trimmers roughly a decade ago.
Buying anything raw today is russian roulette with more loaded bullet chambers than open ones, even with low end Michigan uniforms and non NFL licensed product.

For sure - and for most cards I would agree but after 22 years - as imbluestreak23 said, its russian roulette. Brady cards might still be sitting raw here or there, but I think most of the ones in circulation have been smoked out and some attempt to grade/cash out has happened. This is specific to Brady cards.

I’ve only had one card graded in my life and only because my buddy was sending an order and wanted to buy the card from me if it gemmed, which it did not.

Not saying that's good or bad, just where I'm at.

But graded cards can still be trimmed, altered. The truth is nothing is safe unless you pulled it yourself or trust the person that pulled it and sold it to you.

I don't do graded cards except for a few given to me and some HOF autographs that are verified and slabbed.
Between collections my dealer buys and a another local guy I can assure you even 22 years later there are still a lot of raw untouched, unaltered Brady rookies out in the wild sitting in boxes and collections. Maybe not a Contenders Championship Ticket auto but there are plenty of raw Press Pass, Pacific, Fleer and others out there. |

Honestly though - if someone had a pack-pulled Brady Bowman Chrome RC in a raw box for the last 20 years, they would likely grade it if they wanted to make the "Real Money". Caveat Emptor is right.

You guys do realize the print runs for his Pacific or Fleer are probably in the millions or at least 6 figures. So yeah there are still plenty of raw ones out in the wild that are not trimmed or altered. Not everyone sends every card in to get graded. |

You should demand a full refund.

I'm not an avid grader, but I thought you weren't charged grading fees if it comes back questionable authentic/unable to authenticate.

I’m on the same boat as yourself. To be honest it makes the collection soo much cleaner and easier to keep track of. Any cards I do buy raw are with intention to grade to add to a set on the registry or PC. The only raw I have left are all in toploaders part of complete sets. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So if N4 is questionable authenticity I assume they mean fake? Those seem like decent fakes. I believe that type of Victory rookie has been part of fake slab issues at a Dallas show. I don’t know if the cards in the fake slabs were fake too. Can you tell how they are fake? The card stock? Blurred printing? Colors?

Wow, that’s crazy that ungraded cards were sold on there and they ended up being fake. Any ungraded Brady rookies on EBay were probably cracked out.

With three of the five viewed as counterfeit by PSA, I would also question the other two cards.
That Impact RC from your lot is also a common counterfeit target. https://goldin.co/item/2000-assorted...lection-5vzm3f
