I will say this if the halos do not make the playoffs. with the higest payroll in baseball.

trout is not doing them any good. now I love trout. but the halos will ask for everyone in that article plus more. will that help them and lower the payroll greatly. iam sure it will but, were just talking here and it may not ever happen.

just something to think about for the future .

well obv, if this trade goes through, MLB will add a short CF position, and transition to softball instead.

both things have about the same exact chance of ever happening.

I'm sure whoever the hypothetical team is that lands Trout will have to "land" Pujols, and all he is owed as well. Then, they would have to give back 2 major league studs, and probably 3 guys in the minors who are studs too. It's fun to live in la la land though.

Have you seen his stats this year? He's killing the ball and I guarantee you he will be on a different roster at the end of the year.

The best part is the way he is playing the Brewers will probably have to eat very little of his contract. A lot of teams could use his bat.

Braun to the Cubs for Almora, straight up. Id love to see that happen but the way Soler is playing it wont be long before Almora is with the Cubs.

LOL at Cubs fans who think they can get him and keep Bryant, Russell, Schwarbers of the world.

First off I dont think the Angels are dealing him
Secondly, why would they take Happs and Contreras of the world?

My first request is 2 of Bryant/Schwarber/Russell.

No... He said Trout wasn't going anywhere...he said the same thing about Maybin when he was on the Tigers. Said he was the future of the franchise and Dave Dombrowski would be crazy to trade him.

Just pointing out that even the unthinkable... can indeed happen.

Bryant and Russell wouldn't have to be in the deal. If the Cubs were to acquire Trout.... they could include... Schwarber, Soler, Happ, Contreras and 1 pitching prospect... not saying that it's enough... but it's a start.

I don't think it's quite the same scenario...

Schwarber blew his knee out a month ago and Soler might be terrible. Get real. He's the best player in the game.

Cubs don't even need Trout. I wouldn't give up half the team they have now for one player. They already have a team that can get to the World Series. Unless Trout is a middle reliever, forget about it...

Geeze. Why tank our whole farm for a player we don't even need? Respectfully, I love Trout and what he brings to the table, but it's irrational to go out and land a player we can live without while keeping our farm intact. If we were to pursue Trout it would take a significant chunk of our players and future players. I don't personally "care for" Braun nor would I want him on the North Side but if it were between Braun and Trout I'd rather have them take Braun. That way we don't sell out a majority of our team and we still get a player of good caliber (he can definitely hit, can't knock him on that).

I truly don't think Theo would do something like this after how much work he's put into this team to get them where they are now. Seems like people saw Richards go down and now their brains are imagining all of the possibilities that could happen and they go write an article about it. I'm not sure what they're doing about the LF situation with Soler hitting below .200, I've heard some trade rumors (like these) and I've heard Maddon say that he just needs more AB's so I really have no clue what they are going to do. I say give Baez a shot in there but they haven't done it so...

A team like cubs would never ever ever send entire farm for one player when they are already best team in baseball

Now a team desperate to win a title like dodgers. Maybe te like pittsburgh. I can maybe see happening but when i say that its like...what...5% chance? Haha
