Did 2 of the Articuno and 3 of the Lugia today.

With all of us level 27-36, we seemed to be able to beat it with a minimum of 7 for Articuno, and 12 for Lugia.

Catching on the other hand, was maybe a 45% success rate among the group each time with Gold Berries. Not an easy task. I went 1-2 on Articuno and 1-3 on Lugia, my wife went 0-2 on Articuno and 2-3 on Lugia.

I did three legendary raids yesterday but wasn't able to catch one. Base on my, admittedly small sample size, I feel like the catch rate is about 5-10% (I've seen people quote the base catch rate is 2%)? For example, at the first raid there was about 25 people and two of them caught it. At the second there was a group of about 35-40 people and three people caught it; and at the last raid there was about 15 people and one person caught it. It honestly just felt like pure luck whether you caught it or not.

Did 16 raids today from 930 am to 530pm
On my main account i was 1-4 lugia, 5-7 articuno
On my side 0-2 lugia, 0-5 articuno.

They say the base catch rate is 2% for the legendaries..
All i can say is it is tough. My friends daughter went 0-9 on articunos. Its not like she was missing the articuno because she was a good thrower. Its insane. But just casually catching and raiding and spinning stops today i got about 375k XP today. Im over halfway to lvl 37. I will be grindiing to make it close to 37 tomorrow.

In terms of group size. If you have people im the 30s we had plenty of time with more 10 or more. But i was also in a raid where we had about a minute left with 15 with a bunch of low level people. So ut depends. No one even cared about ttars or laprases today. We literally went from articuno to articuno

the catching seems pretty random..
today I ended up doing 13 raids
first raid against Lugia we didn't win a couple times and time ran out
the next 7 (2 Lugia - 5 Articuno) I didn't catch anything
then I caught a Articuno, missed a Lugia, caught another Articuno, caught a Lugia and caught another Articuna.
figure, I started today around 11am, took a break around 2-3pm,
and didn't catch a legendary until 5:30pm.

Me too, and the weather here is crap today, still going to meet up with a bunch of people this afternoon to hopefully catch some Legendaries

Pretty pissed off. Last night we got back from being out of town and I went to go do some raids and my iphones GPS all of a sudden stopped working. Couldn't locate where I was and kept getting the GPS error message on the game. When I got into my maps it shows me as several miles away from where I actually am at.

I tried a bunch of things to try and fix it, even did a factory reset and still doesn't seem to work. At this point I'm pretty much going to miss out on the double everything event and will be missing out on a lot of raids that don't have a Wi-Fi signal nearby I can pick up until I maybe get a new phone, which really isn't in the budget right now either.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I pkayed WAY TO MUCh on Sunday. I hit lvl 38 Sunday mourning, like 5:15am lol. I Had been out most of the night. Grinded my butt off most of the day. Finished at 1.76 Million on my New level. Pretty much got 1.7 for sure, but close or over 2 Million EXP on Sunday alone lol. Still have 2500+ Pidgey Candy but no pidgeys. Been stuck at work all day today, so I popped some lucky eggs to do a few evolves at slow times. At 2 Million, only 1 Million away from level 39. I wanted to hit it tonight, but I don't get out of work till 5pm, and have plans at like 6 tonight.

Did 2 Lugia Raids yesterday, I was 2-2 my side and wife combined 0-4

Did about 7 Articuno Raids, I caught 4 on my Side, with a 100% IV one and 3 or 4 on my Main, but most suck lol.

My side is 150k away from a level but I'm hoping I have enough evolves to hit 35 on it tonight.

Can you play with a buddy and run off hot spot? No sure if it would help, but might be worth a try. I know my wife and I struggle when in areas with tall buildings, and when I'm at work, if my phone is laying on my desk next to my wireless mouse adapter I lose GPS for some reason.

Matt hope you ended up enjoying the event. I heard all the Raids were Automatic 1 Ball catches (not to burst your bubble on the succefull catches lol)

And For what its worth
Articuno is pretty easy with 7 people, had 30 seconds left, and 44 seconds left.
Lugia- Is pretty easy with 12 People.

I'm sure if your good and dedicated, (Josh and his crew lol) you could do Articuno in a group of 5 and Lugia in a group of like 9. But I would say to play safe go with a 7/11 on the two birds.

So actually that's exactly what I'm doing now lol. I found my old iphone 5 with a cracked screen, but it still works and was able to connect to hotspot on my iphone 6. My brother is going to give me his old phone so we can use it for my wife's phone so my kids and I can finally go out and try and catch Articuno and Lugia today lol. Both of our phones GPS don't work. Supposedly iphone 6 is notorious for GPS and WIFI failures over time.

Hope everyone killed it this weekend. I was in Atlantic City for Saturday and Sunday so I was keeping tabs on the Chicago event until it became a disaster and then I figured they didnt do anythign with the bonuses so I held off checking until about 9 PM

The entire time I was catching like crazy. I caught 578 pokemon down the beach in a day and a half.

Some highlights for me so far in this event:
-Caught a ton of Magikarp, but still no Shiney. I have enough for 4 Magikarps now
-Got my Gold Jogger medal
-Caught a few Dratini and a Dragonair to get me my silver Dragon medal.
-Leveled up from midway through 36 to 37 and I may get 38 Before the day is over if I get out and have a chance to play.
-reached my goal of 2 Million Stardust

-Hatched my 9 10Ks I saved up and these were the results:
Sudwoodo 55 candies
Pineco 54 candies
Snorlax 57 candies
Mareep 48 and 64 Candies
Dratini 48,55, 64 and 64 candies

Then I picked up 3 more 10Ks and got
Chansey 39 candies, Dratini 64 candies and Larvitar 64 candies

Not much you can complain about with that success rate!

Raided a ton the past 2 days

went 1-4 on Lugia, BUT

Went 9-11 on Articuno including a 98% and a 100%! I already maxed that bad boy out.

Beyond satisfied with thee event. Will be finally powering up a bunch of stuff and making the grind to hopefully 39

Nice hatches Chris, I had 4x Tyranitar on my 7, and just hatched one now actually lol 44 candy.

I will hit 39 tonight, so that means 3 Million EXP since sunday lol. Would haven been more if I didn't have to wrok 9-5 yesterday and today lol.

You can solo a Machamp Raid with 2x 2700+cp lugias with ease, no dodge and 15+ seconds left?

So slow day at worked, popped an egg for some evolves.

Thanks to this event, I hit level 38 on Sunday Morning about 510am. Just hit 39

Took about 58 hours for 3 million exp lol.

that is incredibly impressive.
way to grind. keep at it, everything was extended to thursday so you can get close to 40!!!

I've only gotten about 900k xp so far since sunday morning. but that was only 9 hours of raiding, and 2 hours of grinding. I'm for sure going to hit 37 by tomorrow, but i'm hoping to get 1 more mill towards 38 done. Technically i only need 500k past 37 to be "halfway" through the game lol

i also went ahead and cracked my 8 10km eggs cause i was tired of waiting. tons of candy for all of them... 2 miltanks, 2 mantines, a pineco, a 93.3 snorlax, a 93.3 dratini, and a gligar. it wasn't amazing but i enjoyed the xp and lax/dratini candy i suppose. i did hatch a 97.8% ash hat pichu which was pretty cool.

And thanks, Ill still probably aim for another million or two before Thursday. I still have like 2200 pidgey candy and like 1300 weedle candy, just no pokemon to evolve. So will mostly depend on what I can snag the next two nights. Ill prob go out for an hour and then do some Taco Tuesday Trivia Challenge at the bar lol then I work 9-9 Wednesday which blows. I really wish it would have gone through Friday (my day off lol)

If using to battle with I would prefer two 2800s.

I did the same thing with a couple of Tyranatars. I have a 3000 & 2900+

i mean i have the same problem.. but i've been pinapping pidgeys and evolving as i'm catching them but i never have extra pidgeys since each pidgey is 12 candies.. so after each evo and transfer, i'm stuck with 4 extra pidgey candies i can't use towards anything since i don't have pidgeys left lol. Anyways, i'm glad for this event. i think hitting 37 is still very commendable in this game. But once i hit 38.. i'm going to be highly unmotivated to hit 40. unless we get double xp in the future again.
