If its hard making money at $7.99 ? Then How difficult is it to make money pre-selling at $5.00 ??

Could be wrong but I assume Jake takes the money that people give him UPFRONT via ebay and then places bulk orders for the cards. This gives him plenty of cards for free as his profit. He then has a ton of free cards to flip for good money. Thus his profit is pretty decent actually esp with these early Living Set cards. I admire the hustle!

Jake, you are the last person who should rip someone for selling cards cheap. You will single handily destroy the Now market. Why Topps sells to you I'll never know.

No.. not really. I don't make much on presales. No one does really. But its after presale ends you usually make your money. It'll just take a bit longer at 7.99.

from what I see, at least Jake lets the market actually develop rather than write seemingly fictitious write ups on cards while trying to sell them to marks.
yea, if you can trick someone into buying a card for 80 bucks when there are others on ebay for 7 bucks then good for the seller, I guess. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that myself but that is why I don't sell cards much.
and yes I agree the buyer should be smarter, still doesn't make it a desirable practice in my opinion.

Calling out JoeJoe? I think everyone here knows he be full of chit. As full of chit as he is at least he is trying to build up the brand unlike some yahoos

I'm 100% agreeing with you that JoeJoe is full of it. We all know that. We all find it comical when he has these mystery sales for xxxx amount, but no record of these sales. As much as we all know JJM is full of it, he really is trying to help the brand out. Does anyone here really believe JJM when he says he got $80 for a card that is selling for $7 on eBay? no! We all would rather have Joe than the yahoos that are selling cards for cost.

You are exactly right. If you want to hold long term they might do ok. All he is doing is driving up print runs and making peanuts in the process.

Springer opening day HR. He was asking for 80 on the FB page. I have no idea if he has sold any or said he has.

Topps doesn't care if
A. Presellers are buying from Topps in bulk, and the cards are being sold at discounted price
or
B. If customers are buying direct from Topps

and there is nothing wrong with it.

Sure it would be great if everyone bought direct from them Topps at $10 a piece, but if customers are not going to do that, Topps would rather sell to people like Jake in bulk (with the bulk discount applied) and let them handle rest of the distribution.
It's a Win-Win for Topps and people like Jake who buys in bulk and decide to run their own business with it.

They most definitely will. When he’s sold out there will be a spike. Its still very profitable as I assume he’s racking up $40 NOW coupons along the way.

Anyway I'm still absolutely loving getting these shipments in from Topps. The cards continue to be beautiful. Curious to see who the 'bigger' name is this week since it looks like they try to get buyers with at least one 'bigger' player.
