I agree with gslayton's note here as well

The finish on the player's names on the 97-98 Platinum Medallions give a classy and elegant look that the Gold Medallions don't capture to the same degree

With that being said the Gold Medallions for the price are some of the nicest looking cards you can buy. Big fan of Gold Medallions here, especially the 95-96 set which is one of my favorite looking parallels

The 97-98 Platinum Medallions are very iconic and very sought after. I think the 98-99 PMs are also gaining ground too as of late as low serial numbered stuff just continues to get locked up in player PCs

Big reason the 97-98s are really getting expensive. They just do not show up for sale as much as they had even 2-3 years ago

Elegant, rare, & iconic indeed

I want to throw out some rare "base" cards that I somehow accumulated 2 of them. I have only ever seen 3 Hills.

Kinda dumb back in the day Two years ago, I sold that lot for a very low price, less than 200$ total...the HV500 were really fantastic in hands

At least I made some "wise" choices, like focusing on Glenn (sorry If I already posted that picture multiple times, but masterpiece, full-size picture, Big Deer logo & Glenn with NIKE after leaving REEBOK...my favorite card in the PC)

Very rare prototype card from 1992 Skybox USA Basketball. This card front was never issued as part of the set:

"Rare" surely is an understatement for the OPCs, I've got the Rice for PC only some months ago after years of searching.

The OPC cards are such a cool card that never gets discussed. I do not believe that series 2 from 98-99 got printed. Those would undoubtedly be rare as well.

What is the story behind these cards?

They were only inserted 1:3(I think that is the odds) packs in Canada. There must have been very low production for the Canadian boxes due to the limited supply of OPC cards.
