Are people really panicking about this kid? The hype surrounding the kid when he entered was incredibly unrealistic to live up too, and I guess people want to sell out of him since there is no faith. I mean the kid is still hitting .280 with 15 HR's and has played what, 2/3rd's a season? Did we really expect him to jump over 30-40 HR's against big league arms immediately.

Full disclosure, I'll gladly scoop this kid's Heritage, Chrome, SP, and soon Update rookies for cheap as people offload him for Tatis, Acuna, Soto, etc and enjoy the ride in 2 years when he's mashing and people forgot about him.

Heritage Refractor or Nickname version? Anyone have an idea on print run for Nicknames? Thanks

This thread is 150+ pages of hater-ade.... all from people who sold before Spring Training and from people who are overweight themselves.
The Wander Franco 2020 thread will be identical minus the fat jokes.

I am not worried (I also have next to nothing Vlad right now). I did think his average would be better. I also did not anticipate him sitting so many games.

Nickname probably rarer but Chrome Ref probably more desirable in the long run. But if I were you I'd get the Action and use the remaining cash to get some Ser 2 NNO RCs

I firmly believe he is a great buy right now. For all those that jumped his bandwagon when he was called up or even prior, that was a huge mistake because his prices had nowhere to go but down. Right now with all this "negative" press around him in the hobby because he is not bashing .400 or hitting 90 HR's as people thought we would, his prices are much more reasonable to acquire. I personally believe him and Tatis are the next Acuna/Soto in terms of market. Next year we will all see people jumping this train and prices go up.

Over past few days, I have snagged NUMEROUS rookies including his Flagship SP, Heritage Actions, Heritage/Topps Chrome base in multiples. A simple buy, grade, hold, sell plan just like Acuna and Soto.

I'm kinda pissed he had autos in high heritage and heritage. Soto and Acuna only had 1 heritage auto, should have been same with Vlad. No need for the highs imho

$676 for the Foilboard /162. Wonder if this will make more of these pop up.

I really like this kid, him and Tatis were fun to watch this year. That triple he had the other night was ridiculous . .

Alonso and Ventura (22 in 67 games) are doing it this year.
(Tatis had 22 in 84 games before the injury).
In 2018, Acuna had 26 in only 111 games. Gleyber had 24 in 3/4 of a season.
The year before, Bellinger and Judge did it, plus Davidson had 26 in 118 games and Renfroe the same in 122. Olson hit 24 in only 59 games.
Indeed no need to panic as I think Vlad Jr. will have a solid career, but expectations are rightly high for prized prospects like him.

Okay sure, if you want to compare him to others, why not explore his stats further like why not mention the amount of 2B's Vlad has? Tatis has 22 HR's but only 13 2B's this season. Vlad has 15 HR's and 23 2B's. Of course Vlad will have high expectations; however, what I am saying is he had such a high expectation, that it is nearly impossible for him to live up to it. People were expecting him to crush like he did in the Minors. The kid is only 19 years old and still is putting up offensive numbers better than half the league.

People are panicking because there are other rookies out there hitting more HR's but the kid is still hitting with power. The only true concern is his weight and whether he will remain as a fielder or become just a DH. This offseason will be very interesting, but for his prices now, I am absolutely loving him as a buy.

If/when he strictly becomes a DH...people will jump off of buildings & bridges. But at least he came in 2nd in the HR Derby. Thats cool I guess.
